bob brown Posted November 5, 2017 #226 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Wonderful report....:) Besides the Anthem, you should have also met the Crown Princess enroute to Norfolk...I enjoyed lunch and a ship's tour aboard her yesterday... I see you are now near Brick...it won't be long until you pass by the NY Harbor webcam, but they usually don't pan the early arrival's, so will have to watch for a quick glimpse as you sail by...You will be sharing Pier 88 with the Seven Seas Mariner, which arrived last evening. Your shot of the Atrium reminded me of how crowded that space is on sea days....I spend a lot of time there playing trivia...not the best venue for that. I sure wish they had a Spinnaker lounge like the Gem does...
Kalum Posted November 5, 2017 #227 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Thx for the cagneys menu...too bad the tommahawk and big porterhouse are gone... Wish you a safe trip home now! Looking forwars to your final thoughts and impressions... We are doing the New Years cruise...flight leaves 2:20pm from EWR...so embarkation should not be a problem I guess
ncklhaus Posted November 5, 2017 #228 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Be aware. The NYC marathon is today when you are getting off the ship. This will probably cause delays in transportation and even more traffic than usual with the extra security. They say there will be 1000's of police officers, uniformed and plain clothes plus CTU and snipers positioned due to the attack in the city a few days ago. I've really enjoyed following along on your cruise. We board in 6 weeks. I'm getting really excited and thinking about trying a live review this time. Safe home. bob brown Posted November 5, 2017 #238 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Welcome home!:) Those great shots of The Statue, reminded me to ask.....last week, when you sailed away by her, did they play NCL's traditional Lee Greeenwood rendition of "God Bless The USA"? Rare mking8288 Posted November 5, 2017 Author #247 Share Posted November 5, 2017 Post cruise thoughts - one of our fellow CC on this same cruise has comments about the behavior of a small fraction of those eating in the buffet - we've seen some of it but largely avoided eating there. But, I noted another observations about misuse of accessible seating. The other issue has to do with crew cleaning & clearing dishes & plates left on the tables, using a dry wipe cloth & saw no use of spray cleaner/disinfectant (diluted bleach solution, etc.) that we are accustomed to seeing. Uniformed white officer/supervisor clearing tables while crews were no where in sight, not good. ... to be continued.
bob brown Posted November 5, 2017 #248 Share Posted November 5, 2017 But, I noted another observations about misuse of accessible seating. . Nothing new there...I used to travel with my mother with her wheelchair, and people just had no respect for those reserved for wheelchair signs....crew would only enforce it, if we couldn't find another location accessible, and I complained to them..
