dexddd Posted November 1, 2017 #128 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Good morning MKing. Seas look very smooth and light. Think you are in luck for GSC. Time to go find Mrs. MKing in the casino and tell her it is time to hit the beach.
dexddd Posted November 1, 2017 #129 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Just reading another thread about vibrations on BA in the aft including buffet. Split about 50/50 on reports. Since you've been running high speeds and some large waves did you run across any excessive vibrations in the aft of the ship?
bob brown Posted November 1, 2017 #130 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Why 10 minutes ?? Not to pay overtime in excess of budget? Whatever, everyone is back onboard ... let's get to GSC, fingers crossed. Wind is not our friend tomorrow. on AT&T 4G, T-Mo/Project Fi or WiFi via Blu R1HD w Tapatalk, VPN secured. The sooner they sail, the sooner the casino and shops can open... :) You’re doing a great job, enjoying all your posts, but you lost me with some of your tech stuff.... do you have AT&T and T-Mobile phones? LpnMaureen6 Posted November 1, 2017 #131 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Was there a Halloween party? We are on the Breakaway next year for Halloween, figured I would look and see if we needed to pack costumes.
Rare mking8288 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #132 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Good morning all, ship is at GSC and slowing down, should know if we get to go ashore or not soon. Dexddd, Mrs M still sleeping, got it. Vibration wasn't bad to us as we are right at AFT elevators above Cagney. I will explore that further. Bob B, yes - we have 4 lines, T Mo, AT&T, and Google's Project Fi which uses these 2 plus Sprint's CDMA for travel. And 4 smart/iPhone. Be back shortly this morning. on AT&T 4G, T-Mo/Project Fi or WiFi via Blu R1HD w Tapatalk, VPN secured.

Rare mking8288 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #134 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Yes, tendering has begun, those w Group A & B should be on Deck 4 now & boarding. Woohoo, found our 3G BTS cellular signal again, only HSPA and on the weak side away from land tower. Going to breakfast and find a good spot close to the island's antennas. on AT&T 4G, T-Mo/Project Fi or WiFi via Blu R1HD w Tapatalk, VPN secured. Rare mking8288 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #135 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Good late morning, Mrs M' Nexus 6 hotspot tethering using island's good BTS cellular signal. Ship stats last night. In the Garden Buffet, RCL Enchantment of the Sea next to us, running tender. Distant view of GSC beach area. Rare mking8288 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #136 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Got my smoked salmon kept behind the buffet, asked for it ... made me happy. Italian Night at the Buffet. More GSC pictures w tender coming back, with Nexus camera. Noticed the tall antenna tower in the distance on the island. via Nexus 5X Oreo 8.0 w Tapatalk, VPN secured. Rare mking8288 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #137 Share Posted November 1, 2017 We've decided to stay on the ship. Wow, this is rare at lunch time in the buffet, 80% empty. Atrium lobby movie is 1:30 PM, Disney's Jungle Book, plenty of choice seating. via Nexus 5X Oreo 8.0 w Tapatalk, VPN secured.
Rare Travelicious Posted November 1, 2017 #138 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Great review! I read your trip on the gem earlier this year as well. I think you said you were able to hook up to the tv on the gem, is it similar for the breakaway? We have an interior room and were thinking of loading some movies onto an iPad then hooking up to TV via hdmi cable, we've done this at home, will that be possible? If not I guess we'll have to just watch the small screen:D I'm wondering about this too. We were, surprisingly, able to hook up a Roku on the Sun and watch movies from a flash drive. Will be on Breakaway next year and wondering if we'll have the same option. Thanks!

Rare mking8288 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #141 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Movies are largely indoor in atrium or in-room PPV. lucyintheskywithdiamonds Posted November 1, 2017 #142 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Hopefully there won't be a line backed up to the middle of the ship like there was on our cruise two years ago. (Granted, we weren't platinum. But we reserved tender #5 and ended up boarding tender #14.) that's the very reason i booked an NCl excursion for 10:30... the first one to leave the ship:cool:
ofhs93 Posted November 1, 2017 #143 Share Posted November 1, 2017 MKing....in regards to your tech...have you ever tried to use one of the "travel" routers to share your internet between multiple devices in your cabin? I'm also curious to learn about your Roku setup. We'll be sailing on the BA in 2 weeks...so I'll be keeping a close watch on your thread :) If you have any visits to Cagney's, LeBistro, or Modenerro scheduled I would be very interested in menus pics ;) ...and of course the dailies are always good to see as well (we will be bringing along our 3 boys 13,11,5) Hope you are having a *great* time :)
Rare mking8288 Posted November 2, 2017 Author #144 Share Posted November 2, 2017 GSC means it's Le Bistro night for 2 of us, courtesy of NCL being Platinum. Beef Tenderloin was just right at medium. Pictures tell the story. Tomorrow is Moderno for 5 of us, stay tuned also for summary about Roku. I have both Edimax and TP-Link nano travel routers, they alone aren't sufficient nor satellite speed & latency good enough on ship. Sharing made it worst, even when you can get it to work. Dailies are kept, I can upload them once we get home. Laundry Special is offered today, pick up tomorrow & back by Friday @$19.99 - Platinum can do it on any days. Latitude reception is Thursday, Nassau evening at Spiegel Tent at 7 PM. Seas are calm at 2 ft. and sailing loops slowly to Nassau overnight. via Nexus 5X Oreo 8.0 w Tapatalk, VPN secured. Rare mking8288 Posted November 2, 2017 Author #147 Share Posted November 2, 2017 One more post and we are calling it a night soon, maybe. From Shanghai ... portions are small, petite, order accordingly if hungry for a real dinner. Snack sized, IMO. Appreciate all of the info you are posting and looking forward to more :) I just ordered a Hootoo Titan with the hope of just sharing to the kids devices in the morning and bedtime. I guess we'll see how it goes...latency won't be a real big issue for what they will use it for. Also looking at loading a bunch of media on a flash that they can stream to their devices via the Hootoo. Hopefully it works lol. Curious if you have used the iConcierge app at all. We were looking at getting the texting and wifi call option for the 2 older boys to keep in touch. Enjoy your evening :) Edited November 2, 2017 by ofhs93
