Zauderdam 11 day to Panama

Bottom line...great cruise....great crew....great Lido food. Only knock maybe entertainment could be better. We have been on other cruises where they had a passenger talent contest with a free cruise to the winner. Don't wear blue on check in day. They have a flowery only blue background for the check in picture. Should be a ship or tree or anything else. This was first HAL cruise and it did seem to be mostly older people. We are an early 70s couple so we fit right in with most activities. The casino machines seemed generous if played in the early evening. We liked the movie theater they have and the great selection of things to watch on the room tv. We used the laundry cleaning service they have and the clothes came back in good shape. That let us pack lighter. We asked our room crew for ice for our thermal cups and they never missed a day doing that. Not HAL's fault but last day going thru customs took over an hour with very long lines. Yes I will go with HAL again...you should also !!!

Glad you enjoyed your Zuiderdam cruise. We have sailed on that ship quite a few times and have done your itinerary a couple of times.

Immigration in Ft Lauderdale has been very bad for HAL the last couple of years. They have cut back on the number of officials assigned to the HAL ships.

We got off Zuiderdam on 11/26. We have done the expedited process for several years. Usually there are 50 people or so who get off that way. On the 26th, Karen and I figured that there were more than 300! Yes, it took a long time to get through customs with that many people and only three agents working. I believe that there were 7 cruise ships in port that day, customs people were spread thin.
