Where is Captain Romano?

In October Ron Goodman told me Commodore Romano was alternating between the Ruby and Regal and is scheduled to do that for the foreseeable future.

Good to know. Thanks for this. He was the captain (at that time) during our very first Princess cruise. Since then, we’ve seen him through the years. Always so personable and smiling and talking to everyone.

Andrew :)

how much personal interaction do you actually have with the captain? - this is a serious post, not unlike some of my others:evilsmile:

A good friend is the Commodore’s neighbor in Davie and told me this about ten days ago. He said since we are sailing with him next month, it might be our last chance since he is planning to retire. We have had dinner with the Commodore and family.

Some are out anD about a lot and open to a chat, others you barely see.

I’m not big on “who is the...” fill in the blank for CD, Captain, etc., but we have sailed with the Commodore twice and noticed that he was out and about more than any of the others we’ve experienced. I also did a UST on the Regal last year and he was very warm and welcoming when we visited the bridge. Plus he married a girl from Ohio so he must be a good guy!

If you happened to be on the Star Princess Hawaii cruise this last month and were out and about on the ship, then maybe more personal interaction than you might think. Captain Stefano Ravera seemed to relish being out and talking to passengers whenever he had free time. We saw him several times during the cruise and each time he took time to say hello, shake hands and ask how our cruise was going. He then went on to the next people he would see and do the same thing. Very friendly and personable guy.

We have been on a couple of sailings with Commodore Romano and he seems to be very much the same way.

The commodore was the captain on the Sun Princess during our first cruise. We had him three more times on three different ships. We had our picture taken with him on each of the four cruises. He autographed each one. For a time, I was seeing the commodore more often than one of my own brothers.
