Suzieanna Posted December 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Royal are running The buy one get one half price offer With third and fourth people 25% Off. why would people squish a third and fourth person in a room. Would it not make more sense to book 2 cabins? Am I missing something. Drinks package included for first two in cabin only as well? Does this offer suit anybody? soremekun Posted December 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Maybe someone has to be watched overnight for medical reasons. I am grasping and don't know why if it were cheaper for 2 cabins vs 1 why someone would cram 4 in 1. _______________________ Carnival Paradise - August 2015 - 5 nights Carnival Splendor - August 2016 - 6 nights Carnival Magic - August 2017 - 8 nights Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas - August 2018 - 7 nights (booked) Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas - August 2019 - 9 nights (booked)

soremekun Posted December 22, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2017 Parents with children? When it comes to young children, wouldn't connecting cabins suffice? Similar setup at home where parents are in one room and kids in the next room. _______________________ Carnival Paradise - August 2015 - 5 nights Carnival Splendor - August 2016 - 6 nights Carnival Magic - August 2017 - 8 nights Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas - August 2018 - 7 nights (booked) Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas - August 2019 - 9 nights (booked)
JoyMouse Posted December 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2017 You get a nicer cabin (balcony or suite) rather than being stuck in two insides. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Suzieanna Posted December 22, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted December 22, 2017 But that's the weird thing I don't understand joy. Whatever way I look at it, person 3 and 4 are paying exactly the same as couple 1 and 2 2 balcony rooms each holding 2 people cost the same as 4 people in one room. Rjh8842 Posted December 22, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 22, 2017 It actually depends on the ship and sail date. I have found having 4 people in 1 room can be signicantly cheaper on some sailings. And on other sailing it is cheaper having 2 in 2. Or anywhere in between. Keep in mind pricing on 3rd and 4th guest are ussaully cheaper before any discounts. And if you have kids you can ussaully find kids sale free. Which means if they were in a second room you would pay almost double. As for why. Some people just consider a room a place to sleep. Unless you plan on spending a lot of time in your room it does not matter. Also are you outside the us? Because the that is not the sale we are currently having here. grapau27 Posted December 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted December 22, 2017 We took my wifes mam on 6 cruises the last on her 90th Birthday 5 years ago so we needed a bigger cabin and got much better prices for her than what are being offered now. Pricing can often seem odd based on supply and demand. Have you tried doing a dummy booking - perhaps the offer is for one or the other, not both "deals." There might be something you are missing in the fine print.

cb at sea Posted December 22, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 22, 2017 The "sale" is for the 3rd and 4th in the same cabin. Won't work if you get 2 cabins.
The_Big_M Posted December 23, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 23, 2017 If there's a 3rd person you have to pay double just for another cabin. A 3rd will almost always be cheaper. As for squishing, it's not often much different between 2 and 3, and even 4 is manageable. If you're fine to pay double for a whole family over a couple, that's great, but many people look to help their budget by paying less than double, even though still a lot more than if they were just a couple. Can't even fathom being in an inside cabin in general...gotten spoiled to have a balcony at minimum...we have 5 cruising next itinerary - all set on 2 balconies next to each other. By booking early & with C&A discount...got them at a very reasonable price. No problem.
