mnlovesdisney Posted January 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2018 We will be sailing on the Jade in a few weeks and I am wondering how the casino works on NCL. We have previously sailed Carnival and on their ships you play via your sign and sail card (not cash) and there is no fee to do this. On NCL website I have seen this: Cashless Wagering allows you to charge gaming to your onboard account directly from the slot machine or table games with your stateroom key card or at the Casino Cashier. Convenience fees may apply. Transactions are subject to a daily and cruise limit. Does anyone know how much the convenience fee is? Also if you get cash from the casino cashier do they charge a fee for that or can you avoid the extra fees that way? Thanks for any information you have to offer. NLH Arizona Posted January 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2018 No way around it unless you are their top tier CAS "Elite" and then it is waived.
Sand and Seas Posted January 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2018 The 3 % convenience fees are waived for Sapphire/Ruby/Elite levels. The amount you charge to your room account will show up in your overall on board charges so your credit card will look at it as a purchase, not a cash advance. shrew Posted January 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Can one put down cash and not be charged the 3% fee?
Coastalbreezes Posted January 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Can one put down cash and not be charged the 3% fee? You can of course bring cash to spend while playing. Also there is an ATM in the casino. There is a $5.99 fee plus any charges your bank may apply to withdraw cash. Tracy
Rare BirdTravels Posted January 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Can one put down cash and not be charged the 3% fee? The majority of people don't pay the 3% fee. They bring and use cash. Or pull money from the ATM (which for larger withdrawals is much less than 3%)
Moby0215 Posted January 13, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2018 It works just as a casino on land. They use cash. If you plan on gambling a lot and don’t want to bring that much cash you can front money prior to embarkation. https://www.ncl.com/credit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cb at sea Posted January 13, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2018 Just use real cash...if you have to pay 3% to access your OWN money, you've already lost.
