Hpycmpr Posted January 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Hey everyone, I have been on several cruises and have never checked in separately. Do both parties in the room need to check in at the same time? After dropping off the bags and DW, I am dropping off the car a few blocks away and don’t want to have to wait for me to get back to port to go through security and check-in. Possibly get a better boarding number too. Your experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
GUT2407 Posted January 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Never been a problem when we have needed to. But I can’t say for every port or even every line.
cb at sea Posted January 15, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 15, 2018 No....you don't have to check in together on ANY line. It's just like checking into a hotel. Whoever gets there first (assuming you're on the same charge account) should have whatever form of payment to set up the account.
easyboy Posted January 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Experienced separate check-in and never had a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
navybankerteacher Posted January 15, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Assuming whoever checks in first has the credit card being used to cover on-board expenses (or separate one if using two), there should be no problem. Of course, unless the parking is a long distance away, whoever is left off with the bags is likely to have to wait a few minutes anyway - and can pick up number for checking in, and can be joined by the driver before actually checking in. Krazy Kruizers Posted January 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2018 Your SW can certainly check in herself. Depending on how far away you are parking the card, she may even get on the ship before you. If that happens, you both better decide on a meeting place. JMO -- if I were her, I would wait for you and then check in together and get on the ship together.
SRF Posted January 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 15, 2018 You should have two copies of the check in paperwork. One for each of you. Oh, and make sure each of you has your own ID. NOT good is DW has both passports and checks in and leaves you without ID. :D
