GermericanDream Posted January 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Can we, for example, pay our tips or seapass account with US dollars? We live in Europe, but have a few hundred US dollars leftover from when we used to live there. It's a Norwegian Fjord cruise.
IrishComet Posted January 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Yes, just go to guest services and lodge the cash against your sea pass

Yes, you can put US dollars on your onboard account at Guest Services and virtually everything on the ship is paid by your onboard account. The casino also uses cash in US dollars. The exception would be if you were booking a new cruise, which would require a credit card.
Ken at the beach Posted January 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2018 The crew are happy to accept US$ as tips.
cb at sea Posted January 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Remember, you're being charged tips to your account daily...so figure in how much you've already paid via your shipboard account. If you wish to give those serving you more, they will gladly accept USD... You can also put cash onto your account, if you wish. There is nothing on the ship that you can buy in cash or credit card. Any and all purchases go directly to your room account...and then, you can pay THAT off however you wish.
yuvraj Posted January 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 19, 2018 We always take spare dollars and use it to pay towards outside balance on board account. You can do this at guest services. Other than that, I use cash at the casino and for ad hoc tips.
