Rare chemmo Posted February 9, 2018 #126 Share Posted February 9, 2018 There was a comfort dog walking through Michael’s Club on Equinox last night. As the bartender was pouring our wine at the bar the owner said “Give me some water” as she stuck out a small bowl.As we left.. I get watery eyes and sneeze attacks, the dog was sitting on the sofa licking up the water. The pair were still there two hours later so we just kept on walking.. Arno, has anything been done to rectify this? Boundaries put in place re sitting on the floor (the dog not you!), perhaps the owner agreeing to only sit just inside Michael’s so the rest of you don’t have your visit spoilt? We experienced similar a few years ago in the Concierge lounge on a RC ship. At the time I didn’t know what the dogs role was....like you we have allergy issues and sat as far away as possible. I felt less tolerant after walking through the casino a night or two later to observe the lady minus doggie....obviously the gambling was providing her comfort at that time! TMLAalum Posted February 9, 2018 #127 Share Posted February 9, 2018 Now for the most ridiculous story of the day.... https://www.newsmax.com/thewire/emotional-support-hamster-flushed/2018/02/08/id/842336/ This was in our morning paper today. I apologize if anyone here is offended, but I laughed so hard I spit my coffee out:evilsmile:...... However, I do hope Pebbles survived somehow and swims away to safety. Sandtrap328 Posted February 9, 2018 #128 Share Posted February 9, 2018 We are taking our dog to get a therapy certificate and he is taking the third and hopefully final course. Dog has had to pass tests for each course to move on and has been successful so far. People often comment how well behaved he is in public but that is due to alot of hard work on everyone's part. Don't start to muddy up the water with Therapy Dogs. They are NOT Service Dogs nor are they Emotional Support Dogs. They are dogs going into hospitals, nursing homes, etc to give patients comfort. Therapy Dogs do not travel on ships. They do not fly free. They do not go into restaurants. Therapy Dogs are great for the comfort they bring to patients. AzStyle Posted February 12, 2018 #130 Share Posted February 12, 2018 I was on a Celebrity Caribbean cruise a few years ago with a motorcycle group aboard. I talked to one of them and he said that it was a package deal--price included storage for cycles. We were up on a hill in one port and watched them roar out of the ship. Very Cool!! That would have been cool to see! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
