So Im curious about footwear in the water areas, like in the pool or on the water slides do they allow any at all? Just asking so I know what to bring with me in the future!

We’re going in September and hoping to score Vibe Passes. We’re Gold but that doesn’t get us priority boarding. Quick question. Are the Vibe Passes at Guest Services or Headliners. I’ve read both. Last year on the Escape it was Headliners.

Here's a thought... have you tried the extension of the vibe bar just outside the vibe doors? The bartenders in the vibe are amazing, they make the experience! And those same guys wait the part outside the vibe. Also has the same padded chairs. May be great place to chill without the Vibe antics. Last time we were on there were some terrible drunks that ruined the vibe for me. And I'm a drinker for sure! They made a bacon Bloody Mary that my DH had for breakfast every morning and a top shelf margarita that was to die for. Enjoy!!

So i wasn’t able to post all day as the internet was down . They were doing maintenance. A little frustrating.

 

Not to continue the downward posts but I’ve still not received my $375 of OBC, despite showing them the receipts . I was told I’d hear back yesterday and when i Heard nothing , i went down again only to be told it could be 48 hours before i hear from NCL!!. Not once have i received an explanation or indeed an apology for the inconvenience. I’m not sure what more they need than a paid receipt showing the amount.

 

This unfortunately is the first cruise I’ve encountered any negative attitudes and as i mentioned day 1, there’s just a different feel than the last 7-8 cruises with NCL. Nothing major but enough little things such as my lost OBC, no Soda package showing up. I purchased another and am waiting on a refund since i also provided a paid receipt for the first one .

 

On previous cruises, i always met the cabin steward but here i haven’t them at all yet . Again no big deal but the personal touch seems a bit lost . The cruise service desk have been of no help btw

 

Ok , enough of the complaining. Hopefully day 3 will find my money

 

I rambled around Roatan port and while there isn’t a ton to do, i tried some local brews and had some chicken port side for around $17. There is an amazing little coffee stand and a cute chocolate cart . Well worth a few dollars . The rest of the stores are your typical souvenir/wood carvings that you’ll put in a tag sale next year

The most delicious soup I’ve tasted in years ( vegetable) and an equally delicious fillet mignon. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend La Cucina as one of your speciality dining options

Sorry about the mess ups on their part but even more about the lackadaisical attitude toward it! Bites. Thanks for the posts much enjoying!!!

Planning on going there tonight after i finish this dessert .

 

I’m totally ok with some bumps along the way and i normally roll with them. I’m on vacation and I’m missing multiple snow days at home [emoji1]. I’m just a little floored at the lack of response . I was given different responses by the staff and they’ve failed to solve the issue . It’s annoying as i didn’t bring much cash as i had $825 of OBC . I normally withdraw cash from the casino to use at ports etc . Lesson learned

Vibe is a private area with a bar , loungers and cabanas . They come around with cool towels and fruit skewers . Hopefully the photo attached . It’s a nice place . Unfortunately, i didn’t get in and an resorted to stalking outside taking photos [

Way too much fun at Howl last night , it’s definitely a great place to spend the evening . Most of the time the crowd are fantastic , with the odd obnoxious few but that’s everywhere i guess .

 

As a firefighter/medic , i come across many types of personalities and usually can handle them well. A negative of the UBP for me is that some people want to drink the equivalent of what they are spending on the gratuity. That results in some people tremendously wasted and they let their personalities get the better of them . I’ve seen quite a bit of boorish behavior onboard and while i rarely get intimidated by this , i have seen older people look scared especially on the elevators . I’ve asked a couple of guys to stop shouting in the elevator and to give the elderly people some room . Just an observation but i do feel the open bar is creating its own problems .

 

Cloudy morning as we near Harvest Caye . It was the same in Roatan yesterday with some rain added in, but by noon it had dissipated and a beautiful day was had.

 

Quick follow up on my $375 missing OBC. I spoke again this morning and for the first time i was apologized to for the inconvenience. Since Sunday evening till Wednesday, that was the first acknowledgment a mistake was made . Still no money but I’m holding out hope the money i paid in August will show up. I’ve had such a negative experience with guest services that i was actually caught off guard by her response , that i complimented her on her job . Just an FYI, i have been polite each time as i am well aware it’s not the person in front of me who has made the error . Regardless, at this point , half way into my cruise , just fix the mistake .

 

I’ll take some photos of harvest caye and post later. Time for coffee ( which I’m finding awful btw)

One thing that did screw up my trip on Escape the end of October was they did not acknowledge my prepaid dining package for 3 people for 4 days. They held me up on arriving on the ship. I had to pay again for the package. I was irritated so my wife talked to them (She is a lot nicer than I am with getting screwed over) She told them she was upset we missed out on VIBE so they gave us 2 tickets which we paid for so it worked out.

I did get my money back 6 weeks later but I found it odd.

I have a trip in June on Getaway which I have been on 2 times. Never did the spa there how is it in detail I would love to know.

The spa is amazing and i think it is well worth the money . I’ve bought the pass the last 5 times and have never regretted it . However !!!, if you’re looking for a tranquil place, it’s not necessarily that . I go early morning and then in the evening . When it’s busy , it can be deafening . Especially if the waterfall is on along with the hotubs and people want to talk over the noise of all the water . It makes for a not so therapeutic visit . But, i wouldn’t cruise without buying it. I love the saunas and steam rooms and the ceramic heated chairs . I bring my bose noise canceling headphones in case it gets loud and immerse myself in a book . They used to give you a little spa kit with the purchase( scrubs etc), but no longer. They do have great robes though which make fantastic Xmas gifts [emoji2]

As a former dual knobbly knees / chicken leg winner in 1990, a hairy leg winner in 96 and now a solid mr belly flop contender , I’ve seen the “quality “ go down at the pool events . This cruises contestants were crude , with one exposing his rear end ( yes , kids were around ). Not to sound snobby, but this was something you’d expect on other cruises where i won’t mention the name . Let’s just say it rhymes with barnival . If i had a kid with me , I’d have been livid. I’m a little disappointed with the cruise director and his assistant. They just seem to give off a strange vibe . Maybe it’s just me but i can do without the continuous subliminal innuendos . I’m sure plenty will rave about him but if i see him on the cabin tv , i change it as quickly as i do Fox News . Just not my cup of tea

 

Might do the main dining room this evening !!. We will see

 

I finally heard back that my account is to be credited with my missing OBC . It hasn’t hit yet but at least a response .

Just sat for dinner in Savor. About a 15-20 min wait which wasn’t too bad . Delicious potato leek soup , i also ordered a slider which came out ice cold .

 

Chick Parm for main course, which was very tasty. But it’s hard to screw up a chicken parm [emoji1]. Dessert was a cherry trifle which was very very tasty.

 

Off to a comedy show and who knows what else

 

I tried the walking track this morning but i guess you’re not supposed to stop after each lap and grab a cone . You feel silly when you’re being passed by an 85 yr old while you slobber over an ice cream cone that’s spilling down your hand

If you’re platinum , you should be able to snag some . The ship also has miraculous healing powers as some people i saw boarding early as special needs using a cane, has since discarded it and is now running around the ship . They also conveniently had a vibe bracelet . So , maybe buy a folding cane and once you get thru, sprint to guest services for your pass [emoji106]
