VvaTcHTHELORD Posted February 9, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2018 All Royal Caribbean cruises sailing after December 2017 have the updated policy to the Deluex drinking package(booze package). That all members in a state room 21 years of age and up must purchase the Deluex package if any other member of the state room wants to purchase the package. Has anyone sailed with the new policy applied. Was it the case or did you find a way around this? I'll be sailing in April on Oasis with 3 other people who don't want the package. Majority wins. Any information or experience with this would be of much help and appreciated. Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Forums mobile app
constable145 Posted February 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2018 No one is forcing anyone to buy the package. You can pay per drink. RCI is just coming in line with their other major market competitors. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
time4u2go Posted February 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2018 If 3/4 of the people in the room don't want the package, then don't buy the package. Pretty simple, really.

Rare JessyCruises Posted February 10, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We are sailing March 3 on the Freedom. Hubby got enough casino points on our last cruise to qualify for free drinks in the casino. I did not and wanted the package so I called to buy one just for me. When they asked what I needed I said I wanted to order one for me and hubby did not need one as he was already getting drinks in the casino. I did not have any issue at all. I called C&A to add it. This was about a month ago.

Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Forums mobile app Recently on Allure and we purchased onboard to take advantage of our D+ 30% discount. Two of us in a cabin, we had the choice to purchase 1 or 2 packages. Surprised actually. In the end we opted to purchase 2. individual drink prices on Oasis class ships have increased significantly and in fact they differ in price in several bars, +/- $1- $2 range Cannot guarantee it would be the same in April but might be worth waiting... Good luck.

grapau27 Posted February 10, 2018 #17 Share Posted February 10, 2018 And honestly, it seems like a lot of people don’t actually realize that they can drink without buying a package! I agree. A lot of people do drink more to get their moneys worth. If you are on tours or take poorly on board the drinks packages are not worth it. Currently in the UK cruises of 6 nights or more have a free drinks package but the cruise price has been increased appropriately to cover this so we are paying for it even when we don't want it. Desert Cruizers Posted February 10, 2018 #20 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Since we will have new members arriving on CC & to cruising, they will not be aware of all the questions and how many times one has been asked, They are also learning their way around this site. We are here to help others so try & do my part. Our first cruise was in 2002 and I am still learning off CC things I never knew.
