RickinNYC Posted February 10, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2018 So, for the first time in our lives, my husband and I have decided to splurge and stay in a Haven suite on the Breakaway. Super excited, because... Haven. We’ve sailed this ship a few times and have always been successful in getting into Vibe. We’ve always enjoyed meeting others there, and admittedly like the “no kids” policy. I understand staying in Haven, there will still be kids run amok, particularly the week we board (first week of April - Spring Break) and that’s ok. My husband is a teacher. I work for a homeless charity in NYC; my favorite facility is our family shelter because of the amazing, resilient kids. I also know, because we’re staying in a spa suite, we have access to the child free spa, but honestly, I want a stiff martini and/or a few beers as I relax. Here’s my question for prior Haven guests that have also purchased Vibe passes during their trips. When boarding, did you go directly to the guest services desk to purchase those passes? Or did you do so through the Haven concierge? Or are we able to purchase in advance as a Haven perk? Any recent Haven/Vibe experiences would be appreciated! Two Wheels Only Posted February 10, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2018 You cannot get them in advance. You can get them from the concierge IF the concierge has any left. Your best bet is to arrive earlier than general boarding begins and to use your priority boarding to go straight to Guest Services. You do not have to go directly to the Haven courtyard when escorted onto the ship. Don't feel bad for wanting VIBE access even though the Haven sundeck is right next door. If you want a drink in the sun in an area that is adult-only and not crowded, VIBE is your only option other than your tiny balcony. ;p
Rare BirdTravels Posted February 10, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Sorry, Rickin, Never tried for a Vibe and Havens on the same cruise (they are literally 3" apart with a large "balcony divider" between the two areas). FWIW, here are a few pictures of a spa suite and menus from the Breakaway from our Bermuda cruise last year https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2504449 FWIW, in post #9 on the link above, 4th picture down, the wall in the distance is the divider between the Havens and the Vibe. lowroller Posted February 10, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We are doing the same during Easter week. Haven suite and are going to purchase Vibe passes. I love kids, and have 2 adult children of my own, but as you mentioned, I want a place to unwind have a drink or two. 7 weeks and it's my turn! AlexandNessa Posted February 10, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We did this over NYE on the Breakaway, in your exact situation (Haven spa suite). We were onboard before noon, I'd say. No issues getting passes from concierge. Since it was cold, we also got a cabana through concierge. It didn't help with the wind; that was just wishful thinking. :) Honestly didn't get much use because all outdoor decks were closed for half the cruise due to weather (& boy are they serious about no refunds due to weather). You'll be fine on your cruise, of course. But we will not be bothering with Vibe again in colder weather. Son of a son of a ... Posted February 10, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Go on the sun deck, point your lounger to the sea, put your earbuds in ... poof ... kids are not a factor. Just stay away from the pool area.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Forums mobile app Because you had purchased the Vibe cabana pass, I’m curious about something. I recall it being $300+ for the week, but that included $100 onboard credit. Is that still the case? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Later in the week, the 100$ credit showed up. You did not need to use the credit on food and beverage. It just showed up on our account. RickinNYC Posted February 10, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted February 10, 2018 Sorry, Rickin, Never tried for a Vibe and Havens on the same cruise (they are literally 3" apart with a large "balcony divider" between the two areas). Thanks for the link to your review. Really enjoyed the pictures and feedback! And I do know that Vibe is immediately next to the Haven sundeck. In fact, last time we sailed on the Breakaway, and we had managed to purchase Vibe passes, I poked around at that divider you described. Really wanted to get a peek at the Haven deck. And doing so REALLY made me think “man.... I need to stay there sometime.” Sent from my iPhone using Forums

That’s what I recalled from a few years ago, though I seem to remember the stipulation that the credit was to be spent only on a specific menu provided in Vibe itself. Nice to know that’s changed. chars Posted February 10, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 10, 2018 I am doing the same thing for my cruise next month. I have stayed in Haven and the vibe, but never at the same time. The Vibe is much nicer that the sundeck in the Haven. I love having the hot tub right there overlooking the water. It is also great to have the bar right there so you don't have to wait for your drinks. I know that some people say why do vibe when you are in the Haven, but they really are two different experiences.

MizDemeanor Posted February 10, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2018 So what is being said then, there are Vibe passes at Haven Concierge Desk and there are Vibe passes at Customer Relations desk as well? In both places?
RickinNYC Posted February 10, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted February 10, 2018 So what is being said then, there are Vibe passes at Haven Concierge Desk and there are Vibe passes at Customer Relations desk as well? In both places? That was exactly why I posted. Wanted to know the same thing. And it seems that yep, there are passes available at guest services per the usual. And there are a few available for purchase at Haven concierge. We’re just going to head to guest services before we even go up to the Haven. DMH15 Posted February 10, 2018 #15 Share Posted February 10, 2018 We have often met the Concierge in the Haven waiting area before boarding. So you may be able to ask them even earlier than you could go to guest services. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
