Goodtime Cruizin Posted February 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I've read that if your cruise is ever cancelled that one should just sit tight an d wait until RCL contacts you and makes an alternative offer of booking. What is typically offered, if anything?
Rare John&LaLa Posted February 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2018 Sometimes price protection on another sailing, OBC that varies on length and stateroom category, and possibly a FCC. Hard to say which will get offered. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
Clarea Posted February 21, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2018 I've read that if your cruise is ever cancelled that one should just sit tight an d wait until RCL contacts you and makes an alternative offer of booking. What is typically offered, if anything? Typically you get some OBC, price protection to book the same category stateroom on a small number of selected cruises, and sometimes reimbursement for airline change fees. Or a full refund if you opt not to book a different cruise.
molly361 Posted February 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2018 If you don't like their alternate price protected offers you can switch to any other cruise at the prevailing rates and keep the OBC that they offer.
Ubiquitous Cruiser Posted February 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2018 When we had a cruise cancelled due to re-positioning we were contacted via email and directed that we would receive an OBC based on category. We were also instructed that they would personally contact us to rebook so that they could apply the OBC. When they called it was not the typical reservation agent (CSR), but a different department. They informed us that we needed to either book then or call them using the phone number they provided along with our cancelled reservation# to rebook by a set date to claim the OBC - or they would give us a full refund. Any subsequent adjustments to the new reservation (price check, cabin changes, etc.) also go through that same department.
