RickinNYC Posted March 15, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Strictly out of curiosity, but if you were successful in getting a Vibe pass, but you only booked a Vibe cabana, do they give you a key to the cabana so no one else can just hop right in? I've been in Vibe a few times, and the thought occurred to me, but what's to stop someone from mistaking the cabana as open to anyone? Have you booked it, arrived and ready to settle in, and found someone else there? If so, what happened? I just have visions of "I WAS HERE FIRST!" arguments, followed by, "I BOOKED AND PAID FOR THIS!"
Rare sid_9169 Posted March 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I have not personally booked a cabana, but I believe they assign you a certain one, for your use only...

You book one, they give you an assigned cabana and it's yours for the week. I'm just curious to know what measures (if any) are in place that prevents someone else from seeing it and thinking, "HEY! Free cabana!" and settling down for the day.

We have booked it a few times and have never had an issue with anyone using it. The staff knows who they belong to as well. I will say that I did have an issue with someone going into ours (while we were sitting at the bar) and taking the pillows out. My husband said something and she returned them. LrgPizza Posted March 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2018 The staff knows who is there, and who is where. They won't let anyone wander in your cabana. It only takes a few minutes for everyone to figure out who everyone else is, too. We all know who likes which sections, etc. Nothing to worry about. Rare grouchomarx Posted March 15, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 15, 2018 I had a cabana in the Vibe. Most of them were always empty. One day we found a couple sitting in ours (just sitting, not parked with towels, bags, drinks etc). I guess they were just checking it out for future reference. They got up and left immediately, I think they felt stupid. There is no danger someone can take over your cabana it is linked to your name/room key. firstimecruiseronncl Posted March 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 15, 2018 What did she say as to why she took them? Nothing really. She looked embarrassed that she got caught, said she was sorry and put them back.

More just genuinely curious how they do things when it comes to a cabana. We're staying in the Haven (first time :o ) in a couple of weeks and I thought if I can get a cabana, fabulous; we'll take it. But if the cabanas are sold out, no biggie; we'll skip the Vibe altogether and stay in the Haven sundeck since it's otherwise the same (minus the easily accessible bar). Sent from my iPhone using Forums Keep in mind the Cabanas can be very hot. On our last cruise on the BA we had Vibe passes. We were also able to try out a cabana for about 2 hours, since only half of them were sold. No thank you, while the rest of vibe had a nice breeze the cabanas were hot as hell with little airflow. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Rick on our last Getaway cruise (last March) the first day on Vibe was crowded, it was exciting and fun but with very little cabana action. By the last days no one was around anywhere, it was a ghost town. I'm betting on you kiddo!
RickinNYC Posted March 15, 2018 Author #16 Share Posted March 15, 2018 Rick I think you might be forgetting one teeny, tiny difference between the two :* And that would be.....? Vibe has no kids? We’ve already paid a mint for Haven? The Haven bar is one level down? If I don’t get a Vibe cabana and stick to the Haven sundeck, I will be denying everyone else the pleasure of my pasty white body? True - but not always. Plus, the Cabana gives you the option of privacy or you can also lay out on a lounge chair. You aren't only allowed to use the Cabana if that is what you rented. I just did the Haven and the pool area is not relaxing at all. Kids (toddlers) are playing in the jacuzzi with their swimmies on as if it is a kiddie pool. I didn't use the sundeck because I bought the Vibe which has the bar and two jacuzzis (on the Breakaway).
Rare Laszlo Posted March 16, 2018 #21 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Didn’t think of that. Hmmmmmm Sent from my iPhone using Forums I'm wrapping up my new video tour of the Vibe on the BA. It will show you just how close to the glass the cabanas are. I guess it all depends on the wind direction. But like I said the Vibe had a nice breeze while the cabana we tried out had zero, even with the top down

Mslmesq Posted March 16, 2018 #23 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Can I ask why one would pay extra for the vibe while already being in the haven? We have a three year old with us and will be in the haven. I assume he’ll spend a lot of time at the kids club there and at the main pools splash pad. But kids don’t annoy me anyways. Is there any other benefit?

Also, the Vibe has a bar and two jacuzzis outside and the Haven outside deck on the Breakaway has nothing.
kernie968 Posted March 16, 2018 #25 Share Posted March 16, 2018 My husband and I rented a cabana on the BA and loved it. The glass has slots so we did have a breeze. We were never too hot and loved every minute we spent in our cabana. I had the best naps of my life in that cabana!
