Wonderful Copenhagen 2018 edition.

Recommended Posts

We are arriving at CPH from Barcelona on Norwegian Air. They say it is in Terminal 3. The airport website says it is in the Main terminal, concourse B. Is this the same? We also plan to take the train to the Main train station, which is also in Terminal 3. Is it easy to find the ticket counter for the train? Does it take Visa, Mastercard or a debit card with a pin#? We are staying at the First Mayfair Hotel. Is it walking distance from main train station? (Kobenhavn H)

Also, coming back from our cruise we will leave Oceankaj and either take the ship shuttle or a cab back to the airport. We are flying back on Delta to JFK. The website also says this is in main terminal concourse B. Where should we tell driver to be let off? Thanks in advance for all your help.

All passengers arrive at Terminal 3 so its only departing passengers that need to check what Terminals they will use.

The ticket machines for the train is located on your right handler when you exit the luggage claim area.

Delta uses Terminal 2 so that it where you need to be dropped off.

The concourse/pier is however pier C

Yes, the hotel is located behind the central station and you should be able to walk to the hotel.

I have never heard about them before this year so my experience is zero.

But try to contact veddebus that provides the busses, I think they are the ones behind it.

Thank you again, DV! You know you're such an asset for Cruise Critic...you rock!

Thank You, Danish Viking, for your Wonderful Copenhagen 2017 edition ( all 38 pages), and now the most recent 2018 edition.

I’d like your thoughts, recommendations, and most current information on Copenhagen Street Food, in general.

I understand there is a specific location, ( or was)across the canal from where we will be staying at the Hotel City Best Western,in July of this year. Is that still operating?

Are there other notable locations for ‘street food’ ( and possibly specific vendors) thatyou would recommend ? Especially near our hotel?

Same question for ‘open air markets’, and ‘street faires / flea markets’, near us ornear metro stops connecting with Kongens Nytorv metro station.

Thank you for your assistance, and infinite patience…(y)

I will be staying at Steel House Copenhagen, is the train or the metro the easiest way to get from the airport to Steel House?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Both because you need to change to S-train in order to get to Vesterport station.

You can walk from the central station if you don't want to change train, its perhaps 10 minutes on foot.

I need to do some research on fleamarkets but the others are done quickly.

Copenhagen Street Food is closed but there are some other options.

Torvehallerne near Nørreport or Kødbyen near Døbbølsbro are good alternatives.

Tivoli Food Hall is also an option but a little bit more expensive.

Hello Danish Viking! I have finally heard from CruiseShuttle, thru the link Veddebus.dk that you have provided! I believe Cruise Shuttle is powered and run by Veddebus, good call on your part, finally they have replied after 4 follow-ups! They sent an order confirmation for the date that I have provided for, May 20 (transfer for Norwegian Breakway) and will just have to go outside of Terminal 1. Payment shall be made at the bus (15 Euros each for Ticket B, transfer straight to the airport) cash or credit card are accepted.

Thank you again for your assistance!

The other thread was closed for good reasons I might add.

But anyways, here are the most current infos for the 2018 season.

Pier Information

For pier location use this page, its updated closer to arrival with exact pier number and terminal.

http://www.cmport.com/ships-in-port/cruise-ships/copenhagen

C177 is Nordre Toldbod

C190 to 199 is Langeliniekaj

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/Langeliniekaj,+2100+K%C3%B8benhavn/@55.6995038,12.5984453,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x465252dd08649a7d:0x4e7b478417fecaf!8m2!3d55.6995038!4d12.600634

C331 to 333 is Oceankaj

As last year, a few ships will dock at the freeport at C266 Levantkaj.

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/Levantkaj,+2150+K%C3%B8benhavn/@55.7135667,12.597013,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x465252eacddb06c5:0x621124f3aefb6833!8m2!3d55.7135667!4d12.5992017

Transport to the piers.

At Nordre Toldbod the nearest bus stop is on route 1A with Esplanaden (Grønningen) when coming from central Copenhagen and Esplanaden (Store Kongensgade) when going to central Copenhagen.

For Langelinie its the 26 bus, the bust will stop at nearby Indiakaj most of the time, some departures go all the way out on the pier but not all.

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/Indiakaj/@55.6951972,12.5956986,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x465252de6ee8856f:0xeb0e221fb2acd1be!8m2!3d55.6951972!4d12.5978873

At Østerport station it both stops at Østerport st. (Folke Bernadottes Allé) and Østerport st, just take bus 26 towards Indiakaj and not Færgeterminalen Søndre Frihavn or Ålholm Plads.

For Oceankaj its both bus 25 and 27

Bus 25 starts at Nørreport station, stops at Østerport st. (Folke Bernadottes Allé) and then continues to Oceankaj.

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/%C3%98sterport+St.+(Folke+Bernadottes+All%C3%A9)/@55.6920083,12.587282,16z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x465252eacddb06c5:0x621124f3aefb6833!2sLevantkaj,+2150+K%C3%B8benhavn!3b1!8m2!3d55.7135667!4d12.5992017!3m4!1s0x465252e1d3e04073:0x8224c989afea3609!8m2!3d55.6918819!4d12.5888917

Bus 27 departs from Østerport station and stops at all the bus stops towards Oceankaj so its 4 minutes longer compared to 25.

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/%C3%98sterport+St./@55.6920083,12.587282,16z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x465252eacddb06c5:0x621124f3aefb6833!2sLevantkaj,+2150+K%C3%B8benhavn!3b1!8m2!3d55.7135667!4d12.5992017!3m4!1s0x465252e0509b6503:0x67f1b40f512f1420!8m2!3d55.6935487!4d12.5912252

journeyplanner has all the timetables

Prices are..

2 zone (piers to central Copenhagen) 24 kroner

3 zone (airport to central Copenhagen or pier) 36 kroner

At Oceankaj you buy the ticket at the town shop, the little hut between Terminal 1 and 2 on the other side of the road.

Else you can buy the citypass that is valid in zone 1 to 4 (including the airport)

24 hour ticket costs 80 kroner and 72 hour is 200 kroner.

http://www.citypass.dk/

Another option is the 24 hour transportation ticket that costs 130 Kroner and is valid in zone 1 to 99 so it covers Roskilde and the castles in Northern Zealand.

Taxi Nord has a practical price calculater

Takst 1 and 3 is normal hours.

Takst 2 and 4 is night after Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 07:00 and public holidays.

A quick update of the taxi situation at Oceankaj.

In general they don´t accept prebooking at Oceankaj because in their experience people just takes the first available taxi instead of the one they booked.

but they say that there should be plenty of taxis all the time. (this info is per email with one of the companies so I haven´t made it up)

Hi Danish Viking! Is the Citypass valid for the HOHO buses? Or do I have to purchase separate tickets for HOHO? Many thanks.

No you need a seperate ticket for that.

But If you know what you want to see then the public busses and harbour busses can work out as well.

If you have a list of things you want to see and a timeframe I could do a little sightseeing tour guide.

I just realised that I need some dates for your visit in order to find a fleamarket.

Any suggestions for a hotel in Copenhagen? There are 7 of us (6 adults and 1 16-year old girl) and we will be staying one night (August 3) prior to taking a cruise from Oceankaj (RCL Serenade of the Seas) on August 4. I have looked into the Kong Arthur and the Scandic Copenhagen so far.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am not able to get DOK before arriving in Copenhagen and I know the airport is the worst place to get it.

Would you know where I might find a bank ATM near the Hotel Christian IV or on the way from the hotel to City Hall where we will be meeting for a walking tour.

Thank you.
