Free or Discounted cruises from Casino

We usually get two or three mailings a year that advertise the free or significantly reduced rates for a select group of cruises. They are usually all on dates where the final payment date has passed, so we are not yet able to take advantage of those offers since my husband and I still work and don't have the ability to get vacation time that quickly.

We do, however, usually get a casino rate when we book which saves us anywhere from $300-$500 pp on the fare and we have continued to be eligible for the perks that may be available at the time we book.

We got the offer twice last year. First one was very reduced fares. Second one was free. The offer came in my husband’s name and he didn’t want to cruise again since we had done two cruises in 2017. I would have loved to go with my sister, whom I see only a couple times a year, but since it was in his name, he had to be the one to go. My PCC said to go to the casino cage and request that any future offerings come in my name. He wasn’t sure that would work, but it is worth a try. We have gotten the casino rate attached to our fares for the past 4 sailings. Some have been quite nice and made a suite a very good deal. BTW, we do not spend a lot in the casino. Maybe go in for 1/2 hour a night, spend our limit and leave. Never won big, but still fun

I've only gotten a couple of mail offers over many years, however, the casino discount has been applied to all my cruises for a number of years.

You need to log in on the HAL site and you will then see the discounted fare.

Please, where do you see the discounted rate on the HAL site? I put in both our Mariner #s but see nothing referring to casino rate.

Thank you.

It doesn't say casino rate. Only when you book with a PCC or TA do they say the "casino rate" BUT you can easily see if you are getting it. Log in - pick a sailing date - note the price on the main page and then click book and do a dummy booking. As soon as you look at the stateroom pricing you will see if there is a difference in the price from what is on the main page or not.

I hope this makes sense?

The fare you see with the mariner numbers in place will include the casino discount

I received some free inside cabin offers the past few years, but I don't remember the exact frequency. It seems they were a couple a year. I have the last 2 I received in snail mail so I can see the dates on them. One says the book by date was January 15, 2018, and the second shows a book by date of March 15, 2018. Both offered discounts, but the first one offered $300 casino cash which I didn't book, but the second one I did book and it offered $500 casino cash with a similar discount. I agree with msmayor that in the past my offers have been for close-in dates, but this most recent offer wasn't. In mid-March, I booked a Thanksgiving weekend 7 night cruise from that most recent offer. I was pleased the offer provided the opportunity to pay an upcharge to book a higher category, so I booked a verandah cabin. No suites were available on the offer. I paid roughly $924 for 2 including port/tax for a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise, and will then get $500 back onboard. Not free, but a good deal.

The snail mail offers I receive provide 800 numbers to call to book. I agree with the others that there's nothing that shows online designating certain sailings as casino offers. I simply see the reduced prices after logging in and searching, and only know the amount of casino cash offered with it based on the snail mail offer I received (casino cash amount does not show online).

Hope that helps.

It appears that guests with some casino activity get these offers but those that cruise often and spend large amounts of $$ and time during frequent trips each year are less likely to get offers. We do get casino discount but never "free".
