toodycat Posted May 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2018 I’m sailing on NCL for the first time in July. The friend who’s making the arrangements recommended a spa suite in the Haven. What does that include? And is it only one king bed, as pictured on the website, or can the bed be divided into two? Thanks.

Our link provides some photos of a spa suite and the Haven on the Breakaway https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2504449 It is only a king bed and can not be separated. You have access to the Thermal Suite for the duration of your cruise,,, a wonderful getaway on a busy ship. That is a $200+ per person value (if purchased separately). You are a Haven guest, so you get access to the Haven facilities (lounge, bar, courtyard, private sundeck, restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner)). You have all of the benefits of the Haven (concierge to help with all reservations, butler (serving snacks every afternoon), escorted embarkation and disembarkation). To clarify it is not IN the Haven but you have access to the Haven. There is a spa tub right in the room, which was nice, but not conducive to privacy between just friends.... Two Wheels Only Posted May 5, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 5, 2018 There is a spa tub right in the room, which was nice, but not conducive to privacy between just friends.... Considering the sleeping arrangements, lack of privacy might not be the biggest problem...;)
leaclingman Posted May 5, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 5, 2018 While we did not stay in a spa suite, I posted extensive details of the Haven amenities, if you’re interested. It’s the reason we cruise NCL :). https://gotravellife.com/2018/01/03/about-us/ Sent from my iPhone using Forums
BNBR Posted May 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 5, 2018 Bird - is there a sofa bed in the cabin? No. The spa suites are designed for couples.
gmbhardy Posted May 5, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 5, 2018 We stayed in a Haven Spa Balcony Suite on the Getaway. Loved the Haven and access to the Thermal Spa. The cabin was bigger than a normal balcony cabin with a larger bathroom and jacuzzi adjacent to the balcony with its own window.. The only negative was a lack of space to enjoy room service. There was a small table in the cabin but no chairs. We didn’t order room service but we wondered where it would be served.

dreaming girl Posted May 7, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Hi toodycat, I do a lot of surfing and read posts of interest when planning an upcoming cruise. I have cruised in a spa balcony and spa mini suite before and highly recommend it for the complimentary spa access. Love the thermal loungers and plunge pool. I read some responses to your thread and am afraid you may have received some inaccurate information. I have never stayed in a Haven spa suite but have read that you do not have complimentary access to thermal spa suites. If you read the fine print of the link you provided it states " Enjoy exclusive privileges of The Haven and priority access to Mandara Spa. " That link states spa balconies and spa mini suites have " complimentary access to the Thermal Spa Suites". In other words, I have read that Haven spa suite guests have to pay for access to the thermal suites. I know it doesn't make sense why. I just know that is what others have posted. Maybe someone will read and verify this. I do not know the going rate. Someone posted $200+ per person value. I believe we paid $250 per couple 10 years ago. That is for a spa pass for the duration of your cruise. They sell a limited number of these during a cruise. I hope this helps. Whatever you do. Do use the thermal spa. It is wonderful. Unless they changed something, the whole point of the haven spa suites is the spa access. We absolutely had included access with our haven spa suite on Escape a few months ago. dreaming girl Posted May 7, 2018 #15 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Glad you did! Others have posted they had to pay and it made no sense to me!! Seemed really bizarre. I'm not a newbie I just read and don't post. I hope more people will post there experiences.
dreaming girl Posted May 7, 2018 #16 Share Posted May 7, 2018 I was trying to find some of the posts where I had found people saying they had to pay. Of course I can't find them. However I did find one of my favorite trip reports from Spaniel Lover when he stayed in a Haven Spa Suite which he states " Our "Haven Spa Suite" cabin entitled us to full access to the ship's spa facilities" He provides a lot of pictures of The Getaway including his spa suite and the thermal spa. Enjoy! And sorry if I provided wrong information. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2104396&highlight=getaway

Rumors and BS........The same thing was going around on my last cruise on the BA in February. My wife and I were in a Balcony Spa Cabin next to 4? Haven Spa Cabins. We eventually meet almost everyone in the Haven Spa Cabins and NO ONE had to pay extra.....at least on our cruise.
beachys Posted May 8, 2018 #18 Share Posted May 8, 2018 If not a couple, i second the recommendation for a spa mini suite. The extra bathroom space is great. The spa is amazing!
toodycat Posted May 11, 2018 Author #19 Share Posted May 11, 2018 Thanks, everyone. My friend is considering the other types of spa staterooms now. I’ll use the thermal area regularly whether it’s included or we have to pay extra. Just looking forward to a relaxing week.
