Knuts-mn Posted May 5, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 5, 2018 I m 60yo and I love towel animals!! I am very disappointed when I don't get them. The tip I leave is more if I get them. I have learned how to make a few and from time to time I will leave them in our room. I do keep each one we get all cruise.

jdvmd Posted May 6, 2018 #28 Share Posted May 6, 2018 Oh ... that's encouraging. Thank you! I asked on the Princess board and was told emphatically ... NO. I think I'll ask my steward if they would do it for me. Maybe they will with a few $$$ in the hand. I think that is why we got them but I also told them that I didn't want them. Go figure. MizDemeanor Posted May 6, 2018 #29 Share Posted May 6, 2018 (edited) We love the whimsy. They bring a smile to our faces when we come back to the cabin in the evenings and find them waiting, lovingly, just for us. OCruisers Posted May 6, 2018 #30 Share Posted May 6, 2018 I tell them not to bother. We do the same. Why need to waste time doing them for us when others will enjoy them. ;)
C cruise Posted May 6, 2018 #31 Share Posted May 6, 2018 My stewart made them each night and then took it away the next day and replaced it with another one...is that what they usually do? I took pics of each one..
don't-use-real-name Posted May 6, 2018 #32 Share Posted May 6, 2018 My stewart made them each night and then took it away the next day and replaced it with another one...is that what they usually do? I took pics of each one.. That is normal - you can also tell the steward to leave each one and take a group photo later like BirdTravels did about 15 posts ago. On some cruises with a SEA day there is a demonstration in the Main Atrium or other venue about how these are made and audience participation is welcomed. lenquixote66 Posted May 6, 2018 #33 Share Posted May 6, 2018 We have long lost any feelings of thrill from towel animals at turn-down. Does anybody else tell their steward to not bother with them? I'd much rather that they get an additional couple of minutes back. I rather have an extra towel.
boopsahoy Posted May 6, 2018 #34 Share Posted May 6, 2018 I still look forward every night and take a picture. On our 20th anniversary cruise they made a swan and a heart!
Gershep Posted May 6, 2018 #35 Share Posted May 6, 2018 I enjoy getting them, it doesn't get old. I would be disappointed if they stopped making them. I also like when they let me keep them for the whole cruise. My last cruise I had 11 of them.
don't-use-real-name Posted May 6, 2018 #36 Share Posted May 6, 2018 I rather have an extra towel. You can have extra towels - just ask - you no like animals towels - just say so. In any event it all comes out in the wash (laundry) and another day brings a different animal.

myra711 Posted May 6, 2018 #38 Share Posted May 6, 2018 As a fairly new cruiser (coming up to my third cruise) I love them! I could see how someone who cruises frequently might feel ho-hum about them, but that isn't me (yet)!
sbenja2003 Posted May 6, 2018 #39 Share Posted May 6, 2018 Maybe it part of their job description to make the towel animals
relic2 Posted May 6, 2018 #40 Share Posted May 6, 2018 I am nearing platinum plus on NCL and still love the towel creatures. I'm 70 and I hope I never grow up to the point where I don't enjoy them. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Nebr.cruiser Posted May 6, 2018 #41 Share Posted May 6, 2018 While I like them, I definitely don't need them. I never thought of telling the steward not to bother though. It's just not a big deal to me.
