Typically we recommend getting quotes from Dial7 and Carmellimo. You will need to supply the time, the number of people and the amount of luggage. They will quote a base rate and expect to pay 18-20% tip on the base rate. Tolls and times should be as follows: 1) EWR to Hyatt - $2.45 2) Hyatt to Cape Liberty - $1.35 - suggest 10:00 pickup to arrive about 10:30. 3) Cape Liberty to EWR - $1.65 - you could push to a 9 am pickup, but allow yourselves enough time to get through customs. Pay attention to what's going on with the disembarkation. You should be walking off no later than 8:15 regardless of what number is being called. EWR is 11 miles away. MarkBearSF Posted May 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Why don't you just Uber...we did ... so very easy. Because there is no guarantee that the Uber driver actually knows where they're going without using Waze. Professional drivers know more tricks of the trade in case something pops up and knows the area. For instance, it's easy to miss turns to the Brooklyn port. - Mark

Each of our Uber drivers (and there were three) were so "professional" and just inputting our destination had absolutely no problem taking us from EWR to the Country Inn & Suites Elizabeth NJ...hotel to Cape Liberty...Cape Liberty to EWR. I didn't see that the OP was needing transportation to the "Brooklyn" port...perhaps you know something I don't about the needs of the OP.

njhorseman Posted May 17, 2018 #13 Share Posted May 17, 2018 Can anyone recommend transport from Manhattan to Cape Liberty , prices and times etc. better to take taxi cab or uber ?Thankyou You don't want to take a taxi as you'll be traveling from New York to New Jersey and NY City taxis are not required to do that. Try a car service such as Dial 7 http://www.dial7.com or Carmel Limo http://www.carmellimo.com , or you can take Uber.

Does Dial7 or Carmellimo charge to go back to NYC even if you are using them in NJ only. If so, any idea how much?

Rare mking8288 Posted May 20, 2018 #17 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Somewhere in Carmel's FAQ, it mentioned their rights/options to impose & collect a round-trip toll for crossing NY-NJ, if the car/driver has to return to the origination point empty (toll NJ to NY is $15 for the state line) - I've heard/read of little, if anyone, ever being asked to pay for that. They have their own waiting lots/garage & fuel stations for their fleet of cars, drivers will typically go there, relax, take a break and queue up for their next assignment from dispatcher. When booking & confirmed, call & ask just to play it safe - no, they don't charge a round-trip base fare ...
