Casino at Sea question need your advice

I called Monday to book a last minute cruise on the Getaway for this Sunday June 3rd. I called my normal rep.

and got a recording and I realized that the office may be closed for the Holiday.

I then called the number on a flyer I received from NCL offering me a free cruise. I talked to an individual from

Arizona who said I qualified for a free internal cabin. This seemed odd because my last cruise was in a mini

balcony suite and I gambled more than my previous cruise that week. I asked him why the change and he said

it was based on my play. He put me on hold and came back and said sorry this was the best he could do.

My question is this really based on my play in the casino or because it was all that was available or all they

could offer. I was trying to get at least an outside cabin so I could have added the drink package along with

the dinner package.

With the sailing date so close, you still have some options. You can wait to call your normal rep. But if the individual said you only qualified for an inside cabin. You can also ask if you can pay extra to upgrade to another type of room: Ocean view room. Yes, it is based on your play and tier. FYI, inside cabin can still have a choice of 1 promotion to pick as long as it is not at a sail away rate.

Good luck.

Have found comps less recently. Always got balcony or mini and for 10-11 day cruises. Just tried for 7 day and was offered inside. I questioned and was told I only lost $4500. Guess they subtract any wins and did not hit any jackpots. No longer go with what you play through unlike other casinos.

I would try the regular CAS line again. Not sure who you spoke with in Arizona but the CAS office is based in Miami. They're a small group, maybe 4 or 5, and they have access to inventory.

Their offers are based on theoretical loss, which takes into account winnings and amount of time spent in the casino, not just the total dollar amount lost. Based on what different family members of mine were offered, it hasn't changed to just loss overall as someone won big in the casino at the tables and was still offered a minisuite for next time.

I agree with suggestion to call your regular rep in Miami. Arizona office just doesn't have access to what the Miami group can do.

And in my experience, CAS is looking at what you have played over your last 3 or 4 cruises.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out. Enjoy your cruise:cool:

Strange I emailed my normal CAS rep and general CAS email and no response

If you have time to wait on hold, I would call the general CAS number and talk to the agent that answers. I've had some luck that way and have gotten good offers from different agents.

I just tried mock bookings for GA this Sunday and OV and Balconies look mostly sold out. That is not in your favor for booking. But if it was me, I would still call the main office and nicely ask.....it couldn't hurt!
