big al Posted June 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2018 Hi all- We will be in Cozumel in November and we are doing a dolphin swim in the morning ( we will be on RCI's Harmony OTS)..we would like to go shopping in port and also maybe a few drinks downtown..I have been to Carlos & Charlie's numerous times, but it's just too noisy, over priced, etc...we are not kids..I would like to take another couple who will be on their first cruise and NEVER been to Mexico to a place that is while festive, not too over the top...is Senior Frogs any calmer? Any suggestions on a place that has decent Mexican food, drink & music? Near the port would be great, too... Thanks!! :D Big Al
nascarcruiser Posted June 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2018 Senor Frog is definitely a party place crazy and loud. Thirsty Cougar is small but had outside seating. Party atmosphere but a better choice or maybe even Wet Wendy's or Woody's would be a better fit

JohninDC Posted June 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2018 Or taxi to the Money Bar (about $12 for 4 in the cab) and enjoy the views and the relative quiet compared to the pier and downtown bars.
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 1, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2018 If you like sports or trying to catch up, Kelley's on Rosas Salas and Calle 1 would be a good spot. Also the beach bar next to Papa Hogg's dive shop is a quieter place than any of the pier bars.
JT1962 Posted June 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 2, 2018 Another vote for the Money Bar. Nice views, snorkeling if you want to, not a party atmosphere and usually not overly crowded. Easy taxi ride there and back. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Magnetchief Posted June 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2018 Take a ride to coconuts on the other side of the island. Beautiful location. Great bar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Do NOT take a ride to Coconuts on the other side of the island unless you pay your taxi to stay there with you. There are no taxis on that side, and you will get stranded. Don't risk it.

Plus tens to lean a bit on the $$$ side for Coz. and food is mediocre at best, IMO.

Compared to be dross we encountered on the port side of the island it was heaven. We had a driver, so no worries about the taxi.
