My wife and I are sailing on The new Edge in March for 7 days. When the ship arrives in Ft Lauderdale,we will go over to the Harmony Of The Seas ,which is right next door.

Does anyone have any experience with transferring from one ship to another? Will Celebrity have any transportation to the Ship?

This is a B2B on different ships, in case Celebrity does not move your luggage from the Edge to Harmony prepare your plan B: Normal disembarkation, take a taxi to the next terminal and normal boarding.

Don’t tell the driver where you want to go until you are loaded and on the move. He won’t be a happy camper after waiting in line for a $2-$3 fare then having to wait in-line all over. He probably was expecting a fare to the airport or at least a hotel.

We’ve done this previously: Silhouette to Indy. We spoke to GS onboard who told us they could probably arrange transportation. However, during the week prior to boarding Indy, we received notification of a deep clean to the ship due to a Noro outbreak, and boarding was delayed until late afternoon. Plan B had to be put in place and we had to book a shore excursion to the shopping mall at the last minute. The driver then dropped us back at Indy after the tour.

So do be prepared for the unexpected and check your emails while you are on Edge, just in case ;).

Actually we did this a couple of years ago between Allure and Silhouette. There were no arrangements for transfer between ships and we did have to get a cab, however we were advised that the cab drivers have to take you, no matter how short the ride, but the decent thing to do is give them more than the metered fare (I'm thinking maybe the suggestion was a $10 tip). This is since once they have dropped you they then have to go and join the back of the line again.

Excellent advice, please do not tell your cab driver until all your baggage’s are in the cab . A nice tip would be appreciated by the cab driver.

We did a side by side cruise from one X to another X ship. No help at all from X. Was told that we could stay on board until 10 or later if we wanted. Wrong. We were kicked off around 9:30. We had the premium bev pack and that was shut down around 9 because they were clearing accounts.

Just plan on getting off as late as you can and then as others suggested to either walk over or take a taxi. Either way it will be a hassle because the other ship won’t be prepared to receive any passengers because they are also disembarking and the luggage handlers are working with them.

We found a shady place out of the congestion and sat on our luggage waiting for the luggage handlers.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
