JKP111 Posted June 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I've heard varying reviews of internet on different RC ships, but nothing about the new Symphony of the Seas, which we are taking next month. Can anyone tell me how it is? Thanks!
Clarea Posted June 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Based on an earlier review, it uses the faster O3b service, so it should be like the other Oasis class ships.

joyhall Posted September 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Do you have to have Voom to communicate on ship with other guests? Or I've heard about the RoyalIQ app on some ships. We just want to be able to communicate with our friends via text while on the ship. Thanks for any info.

We just want to be able to communicate with our friends via text while on the ship. Thanks for any info. You can use Royal IQ on Harmony and Quantum class ships, for $8 per device. Those ships also have a firewall hole that has been allowing iMessage for free. Other ships would require VOOM or paying your cell carrier by the text, for example AT&T charges $0.50 per text while at sea.
Rare little britain Posted September 17, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 17, 2018 The Captain told us that they were working on a 'chat' function within the new RCI app that they hope to release soon, and that no purchase of wifi would be needed. The wifi speed on Symphony was good. Sorry I forgot to do a speed test.
