LewLewBelle Posted June 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I am a rookie and was wondering about how roulette works on the ship. 1) what is the minimum and maximum you can bid 2) what are some tips that help you win?
ParrotRob Posted June 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2018 The minimum is typically $5 per spin, which can be spread all over the board. There is no good way to bet roulette. The ships use American-style wheels which have terrible returns. Generally you can make your money last a little longer by playing outside bets only and staying away from insides and baskets. That said, it CAN be fun, especially in a group at a lively table.
jcruise3883 Posted June 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I am a rookie and was wondering about how roulette works on the ship. 1) what is the minimum and maximum you can bidi- usually 5 or 10 for min and not sure about max- i'm not in that stratosphere 2) what are some tips that help you win? there are several websites that have tutorials if you need a little coaching- Roulette has a statisticlly high House Edge but is a fun game none the less- a dollar on a winning number wins $35! Roulette players all have their own system- watch for a few minutes and you will see what they do. Great entertainment as long as you consider losses as entertainment fees. Numerically though, it's all luck.
mz-s Posted June 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Minimum is $5 per spin, although the displays on the roulette table will tell you it's $1. The way to win is to predict which number will come up next - and play it! Roulette is all luck, it's random. All bets have a house edge so you will walk away empty-handed if you play long enough, just like all other casino games.
LewLewBelle Posted June 26, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted June 26, 2018 If I bet Red or Black and keep doubling if I loose until I finally win does method work? The only way i can see it not working is if there is a cap on amount of betting you can place. Example: I bet $25 on Red it hits black so next time I bet $50 on red and it hits black. Next hand I bet $100 on red it hits black. Next hand $200 it hits red so I have made back my loses and gained $25. I just need to know is there a limit on bets because this won’t work if it goes too high doubling

The only beatable game in the casino is blackjack, and Carnival's rules make that unbeatable as well.

john watson Posted June 26, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 26, 2018 I was under the impression that on Roulette cruise lines have a minimum limit on the 50/50 bets like Red/Black (though you will lose on green 0 and 00), say $5 which is much higher than on loose numbers including alleys, pairs quads etc. which might be as low as $1. Occasionally they run a half price feature night with lower minimums. They also have a top limit on what you may place sometimes lines have a $50 limit and other lines $1000. karlmonday Posted June 26, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 26, 2018 Hope they have an electronic roulette game that you can place your card in for points and then bet 5 on red and 5 on black..(you don't want to see zeros)
Solo1959 Posted June 27, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 27, 2018 Roulette is very simple: You bet your money either on a number, color, row, etc. They spin the wheel When the wheel stops, they take your money.
mz-s Posted June 27, 2018 #14 Share Posted June 27, 2018 Refresh me on how Carnival Blackjack rules differ? Dealer hits on soft 17, 6:5 payouts mostly. On the Fun21 table they take out all the Kings, and on the Face Up table the dealer takes all pushes.
Trishlo73 Posted June 27, 2018 #15 Share Posted June 27, 2018 I love roulette. My husband and I play 20 each a night and every 100 we win, we pull off the table. I rarely play corners or lines. I always play straight numbers. This cruise in Sept, I'm playing on embarkation day to win enough for cheers. It sounds silly and it's completely ridiculous, but I watch the ball and get a "feeling" for what number will hit and then place my bet. Last three cruises I won enough to cover excursions or our cruise fare. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

I have to win or no cheers, lol The other option is to donate about 1500 to the Casino and they'll give you a drinks on us card. Of course then you have to keep playing to get the free drinks. I like your strategy better. LOL

I assume they don't allow late surrender? Fun21 sounds like Spanish Blackjack.
Sizzlechest Posted June 27, 2018 #20 Share Posted June 27, 2018 Almost forgot... For Roulette, I play "the dopey experiment" method. Play the same number 35 times in a row. There's a 40% chance you'll lose it all. $5 x 35 = $175. That means there's a 60% chance you'll break even or win some money. Better than the slots IMHO. Fun21 sounds like Spanish Blackjack. On my cruise on the Ecstasy last month, the $10 tables were 6:5 as well as far as I recall. There was a $25 table at least one night, but I don't recall the payouts or specific rules.
