umpisoccer Posted July 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Was wondering if anyone on the first few sailings on the new Bliss have had their bid accepted to upgrade from a balcony to a Haven suite. We have a spa balcony on July 7th and are hoping to be surprised next week with a Haven upgrade. david_sobe Posted July 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Since Bliss is so new and a hot ticket item, I imagine Haven upgrades are not that common or full price. But you never know.
umpisoccer Posted July 1, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Someone posted that they were upgraded from an inside cabin to a spa balcony last week for the June 30th sailing. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app
Qwenya Posted July 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2018 The sailing for July 7 is showing full except for inside staterooms. All of my upgrade bids from balcony to Haven have been marked Expired. I called this week to double check if there was one available to upgrade out right and was told they are still full. The Mini suite upgrade I won was gone by the time my account was clear to charge. So planning to stay in our balcony with the angled balcony.
umpisoccer Posted July 4, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted July 4, 2018 For those of you that received the upgrade for the Bliss. What time of day at 2 days out did you receive notification that your bid was accepted? Did you get it early morning or late afternoon? Thanks. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app I was already in the Haven was upgraded to a higher Haven category 60 days before sailing! Haven is now sold out (and has been for every sailing from first Alaska until Sept 8)
umpisoccer Posted July 4, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted July 4, 2018 But if there is a late cancellation and you get your upgrade bid accepted 2 days out (as others have mentioned happened to them) do they send you the email with the good news in the morning or later in the day? YVRBassElectric Posted July 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 4, 2018 on a previous cruises my "sorry" emails were sent very close to 48 hours in advance (I was traveling in a different time zone but think it was within the 47 - 49 hours before)

Qwenya Posted July 6, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 6, 2018 Does that mean all bids for upgrades are in vain for the Bliss through September? It just means the chances are slim.

kieransf Posted July 19, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Hi, I've been talking with my booking agent and she keeps assuring me that the upsell team has unlisted inventory that the agents can not see nor can regular passengers. Is there any evidence that Haven rooms are held back just for upsell bidding or is all inventory available for purchase directly?
Love my butler Posted July 19, 2018 #14 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Hi, I've been talking with my booking agent and she keeps assuring me that the upsell team has unlisted inventory that the agents can not see nor can regular passengers. Is there any evidence that Haven rooms are held back just for upsell bidding or is all inventory available for purchase directly? From a fiscal standpoint, there is no benefit for NCL to 'hold back' haven cabins for upsell bidding. If you understand pricing and the bidding process that is very obvious. Budget Queen Posted July 19, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 19, 2018 Hi, I've been talking with my booking agent and she keeps assuring me that the upsell team has unlisted inventory that the agents can not see nor can regular passengers. Is there any evidence that Haven rooms are held back just for upsell bidding or is all inventory available for purchase directly? Why would corporate hold back anything? Of course it is going to be for sale. Makes no financial sense on a product that expires.
Rare BirdTravels Posted July 20, 2018 #16 Share Posted July 20, 2018 Hi, I've been talking with my booking agent and she keeps assuring me that the upsell team has unlisted inventory that the agents can not see nor can regular passengers. Is there any evidence that Haven rooms are held back just for upsell bidding or is all inventory available for purchase directly? Sorry, that’s just incorrect. NCL is selling the rooms for $7000-$10000 per person, why would they hold back room to sell for $1500? If you’re booking agent is giving you that information, they are just incompetent. Time to get a new booking agent.
