scottie cruiser Posted July 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2018 It has been a quite a few years since I went to Moorea (on a cruise). I was wondering if anyone here has been to Moorea before? If so what did you do there??
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted July 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2018 Have you checked out the Pacific Island Ports of Call board? https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
pacificlover Posted July 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2018 I did a private tour Swim with Sharks which I found through Google. Absolutely fabulous!!! The private one was a full day and we swam (actually you stand in chest high water if you are short like me) and have sharks and sting rays surround you. Also visit a motu and have lunch and a few drinks. Google will find it for you. A similar tour is available in Bora Bora, but there are other cheap options to do there like take the bus to the beach. I think that the ship's version is twice the price and not full day.
Rare MMDown Under Posted July 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2018 We hired a car, which we collected and dropped off at wharf, and drove around the island, stopping at our leisure, including a trip up the Belvedere Lookout (like everyone else). Jandex Posted July 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 8, 2018 We are booked in April to go on a JetSki tour with TopJet Moorea. They have some great reviews. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare MMDown Under Posted July 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 8, 2018 Patrick's tour, look it up. Snorkelling, reef, coral, feeding the rays and sharks (small reef sharks) lunch. wonderful day. We did a similar tour with Patrick at Bora Bora, which was highlight. Do they do tours at Moorea now as well?
Rare MicCanberra Posted July 9, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 9, 2018 We did a similar tour with Patrick at Bora Bora, which was highlight. Do they do tours at Moorea now as well? yes, same sort of things but slightly different and the lunch and lunch stop is a bit different as well. Rare MMDown Under Posted July 9, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 9, 2018 yes, same sort of things but slightly different and the lunch and lunch stop is a bit different as well. Good idea for Patrick to expand. Our tour was for a full day, before he got so popular.
KAYTWO Posted July 13, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2018 We did the ATV tour - I think from memory with Moorea ATV? Fabulous day. Sent from my iPad using Forums
pacificlover Posted July 13, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2018 On my first visit to Moorea I too did the tour in a jeep type vehicle. Very interesting to say the least, with a "cowboy" driver, but I was younger then and really enjoyed the adventure. Great way to see the island and photo opportunities. By memory booked through the ship (with a warning not to go if you had back issues - pretty rough).
nanaof2 Posted July 30, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 30, 2018 We did an underwater walk in Moorea, a ship excursion. After the original hesitation/fear it was the best experience ever, never to be forgottten. Highly recommended.
