Disembarking ther Symphony > BCN

Recommended Posts

We have a noon flight from BCN to JFK next October. Have not been to BCN in years and from what I have read it could be a slow process. My plan is to take the least stressful route and self disembark around 6:30am. Any other suggestions?

No, I'd stroll off at 8.30 - collect luggage and get in a cab and you will be at the airport by 9.15. It is a slick process at Barcelona, and there are hundreds of cabs.

Although Barcelona airport is huge with a lot of retail opportunities. Not sure if that is a plus/minus for you!

It is not a big deal carrying off our own luggage unless that creates a customs problem and I imagine heading off at 7:30 would be plenty of wiggle room

I self disembarked Symphony in Barcelona which I think was 6.30 to 8.30. I trundled out of my cabin about 7.30 and it was just walk off and through the terminal. No customs or immigration. By that stage it really was just a trickle of people. Taxis were readily available. My friends did main disembarkation which was later. No problem getting off but luggage was a bit of push and shove and took a while. Luggage pick up always seems a mess in Barcelona. I would always self disembark in Barcelona.

Best wishes, Stephen.

Thank you Stephen....great info. I had forgotten that there is no customs since we are an intra-European cruise. We will self disembark by 7:30 and head to BCN and relax before our flight home.

can you explain the problems your friends had? I can't handle our bags, so i must use the main disembark. we have a driver picking us up at 9 for a tour before going to the airport. what time should we get off so that we can gather our bags and be ready to meet our driver at 9am?

I would suggest you should start the disembarking process about 08.30 no later than 08.40 as you have a confirmed 09.00 pick up.

Barcelona is an extremely easy terminal to disembark at.
