Weather in Bahamas in December

I know nothing is a guarantee but for those that have been what was your experience with weather mainly temp in December, ports are Half Moon Cay & Nassau.

Water may feel cool, depending on where you are from. Temps will be nice! Generally speaking of course.

My first two cruises took us to the Bahamas in November and December. The temperatures stay the same, Mid 80's, sunny, warm. The water is the biggest thing that changes temperatures that time of year in the Caribbean. Still a great time to visit, IMO.

Cold fronts, if they pass all the way through make for some rough seas and cool air... winds are the issue that time of year for half moon cay. But it’s just as possible it will be perfect weather???

We've been on a couple cruises to the Bahamas in late November and early December and the weather has been in the 80s and humid. Seems like we had lots of clouds but no rain. I would expect it to be warm. Just make sure you have clothes for your home port. Jacksonville was a little cool in December.

It really does depend on the cold front. Nassau is just south of Miami so the weather is pretty comparable. One January the east coast was under a major cold snap and the high in Miami was 62. Key west high the next day was 72 and the same in Cozumel the day after. So it’s lovely weather for touring if that happens - but is quite cool when you come out of the water!

 

But the odds are it will be warmer than that...

The water temperatures are very chilly in Nassau in December.

We cruise every December and have always had beautiful weather. The water was fine as well. We are from Buffalo NY so most weather is warmer for us.

Early December the cold fronts usually don't go the far south so it should be very nice.
