MrJulius Posted July 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2018 If I have some non-refundable OBC left on my ships account near the end of my cruise can I use that to obtain casino chips? Let’s say I play for awhile and manage to break even. Can I cash those chips in for US currency? Thanks in advance. MrJulius
Wehwalt Posted July 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2018 My experience in the past is that you can. However, it was four years ago.
StLouisCruisers Posted July 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Yes, as long as the ship's official currency is US dollars. The Australian based ships will give you Aussie dollars.
Kamloops50 Posted July 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2018 I have heard people doing that.
JF - retired RRT Posted July 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2018 We've used up our OBC this way on almost every cruise we've taken.
skynight Posted July 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2018 Yes, you have to play. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Hope you win.
Micahs Grandad Posted July 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 19, 2018 That is how we do it. Get a bunch of chips play roulette and see how we do.
MrJulius Posted July 20, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted July 20, 2018 Thanks for all of the replies. If there is any OBC left over then I'll hit the casino. Much better than a $250 last minute facial. ;p
Sue Do-Over Posted July 23, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 23, 2018 You can load the value into your casino account at any slot machine. Whether or not you play even a single game, you can cash it out for real money at the cashier. Not at customer service, at the casino cashier. It's been reported here that not playing before cashing out will get a pointed reminder that "this isn't an ATM". We've never been tempted to try it and always play at least a little. We frequently find that we end up with more the we started.;p
