Rare Beamafar Posted September 16, 2018 #51 Share Posted September 16, 2018 In Marseille, did you (or anyone else) notice taxis at the location where the ship docked? For 4 people it might be a better choice that the ship shuttle. There are taxis available at the port ... and you're right - it probably would be a better choice. We shared a taxi with my parents into Marseilles; it's approx €25 one way.
SquishTheWhale Posted September 17, 2018 #52 Share Posted September 17, 2018 I'm interested in how you found the quality of the food, and also how you found the organisation on board. We did a Med cruise on the Meraviglia earlier this year and she's such a stunning ship, I wanted to love the cruise so much. But the MDR food was a massive let down (and we are not fussy, we always cruise with mainstream lines!) and the organisation was shambolic at best. I found it very sad as the ship was amazing, but they just couldn't sort out the rest. So, I guess I'm wondering if it was the same on the Seaview or not! I don't think I could persuade my hubby to set foot on MSC again but still, I'm interested as I really do want them to get their act together. Jimbo59 Posted September 18, 2018 #55 Share Posted September 18, 2018 In the Caribbean, most cruise ships offer a ship tour on embarkation day. Since MSC embarks passengers nearly every day from different ports, did MSC offer a ship tour to newly embarking passengers at each port?

staceyeileen Posted September 20, 2018 #60 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Water is free for Americans and Canadians. Clearly, that is not the OPs experience. They are American.
Spastica Posted September 21, 2018 #61 Share Posted September 21, 2018 We recently returned from our Seaview cruise as well. Aurea experience after cabin 12260 and our friends 9001 also Aurea. MDR I found to be crowded at times feeling. We usually doned around 8:30 that seemed to be popular. Food and sercser was adequate. Wine selection was TERRIBLE. For the price of wine in Europe you would think there would be decent wine included since there are so many liquors available to choose from and mixed drinks. I think I drank Prosecco every night at dinner because the wines were pretty much undrinkable. That was one of my only complaints. The other complaint was the lack of night life. Like some good music to dance to, not salsa, not "Olay Olay Olay put your hands in the air" ad nauseum but actual club dance music or even retro 1980's for us "old" 40-somethings. The sports bar was basically empty most nights and the Seaview lounge as well. Midnight and the ship felt empty unless you were a smoker and then the casino or the outdoor area at the aft of deck 7 were options. We found those areas too smoky and so avoided. Otherwise great boat and fun during the day. Aurea Top 19 was great...quiet and nice bar/outdoor lounge for relaxing with a late afternoon drink before heading back to our cabin to watch us pull out of ports. Our friends in 9001 had more space but a terrible view so we didn't really go to their cabin other than to see it.
