Seasonal Greetings to all Coolers ... and to say it is wonderful to see the resilience of Coolers to find nuggets of existential gold for travels and experiences in a bewildering world. It's reassuring and lovely.

Jeff,you're still alive.

That's great news 😀

Hi Lois, Logos we’re my business for 30 years………. And Mrs Banjo and I sailed on Hollander America many times when they had smaller ships.

hope you are well, looking forward to your next cruise.  Theresa and I will be cruising the Nile River in March.  Next SS cruise is not in the very near future, possibly in the fall.  Hope our paths cross again sometime.

in what cruise line you will do the Nile River? I am looking for our next cruise to celebrate my 60 b-day in 2023. So far I couldnd decide, so many options. Nile is a good choice.

I'm looking at Scenic, which I think is the river cruise line closest to Silversea in luxury and design.

[the ScenicUSA website is slow, but it does work.  I don't know how it is localized for Brazil.]

Scenic doesn’t have a great reputation in its home country Australia. Very hard to get a refund if things go wrong. We were booked on their original expedition ship Eclipse. We don’t do inaugural cruises so booked one 15 months after proposed inaugural cruise. However our cruise turned out to be the inaugural cruise and it was touch and go if it would take place. We cancelled 6 months before it happened and only got refund 3 months after the cruise.

Absolutely pleased that we cancelled as the reviews were scathing as the ship was not in a completed state and work was being done throughout that and the next cruise.

Google Scenic and Rhine river litigation.

Totally agree with Dr. Ron.

Two separate couples we know chose Scenic on different itineraries and from their reports, Scenic isn’t even close to being in the same league as SS.  Best stick with the proven luxury leaders for your river cruise.

I would suggest Tauck. They provide luxury and excellent tours along with special venues only they have access to.

While we have not done a Tauck river cruise, we did use Tauck in early September for the Canada Maritimes.  Worked very well.  Yes, luxury style and many extra, special venues, etc.  The pricing is higher than normal, but they do aim to be much higher than just "average".

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

So reverting to my travel ambassador role for down under. For the previous 16 years I worked mainly in our southern state Tasmania.
I worked there for 4 of the previous 5 Christmases. I never saw our Southern Aurora as good as it has been since Boxing Day this year. Some amazing pictures and the first 2 having a meteor as well as the Aurora. Enjoy.

We are booked with AMA.  I was sold on an A&K, but was convinced to look at AMA during a dinner discussion on our recent SS cruise with a lady who is a travel agent.
