MSC Yacht Club questions

Just booked Fantasia Oct 17 leaving out of Barcelona. I have a couple of questions:

Drinks - included- is this a premium package or do we need to upgrade? I ask this because on Celebrity we always upgraded so we didn’t have to think about whether or not our drink was included or not.

Restaurants: How many choices included? Are specialty worth the up charge?

Any other FYI’s appreciated!

You get the Deluxe (premium) package included with a YC booking which covers everything from the menus in the rest of the ship's bars/lounges except the Super Premium Selection items which are marked with 2 asterisks. There's a Med Bar List thread with menus similar to what will be offered onboard - all items, including those with 1 asterisk are included. Here's a link:

In YC, items not included in Top Sail Lounge will have a price next to them; included items won't show a price as YC is all-inclusive.

Apart from the YC dedicated restaurant, L'Étoile (at the back of the ship!) you have access to the buffet. The speciality restaurant (only one on Fantasia) is a Tex-Mex - El Sombrero - the last time we ate there was very unsatisfactory, both food and service.

Out of the 4 Fantasia-class YC restaurants, L'Étoile is the only one I haven't experienced. However, service and food offerings are pretty much similar in all YC restaurants, food ranging from mediocre to excellent, depending on the dish selected (though they will do their very best to ensure you enjoy your meals there), service is amazing and the atmosphere, decor, etc is wonderful.

Tips/gratuities (Daily Service Charges) aren't included in the fare. They are €10 pppd or $12.50, depending on which currency is being used onboard. (That's the adult rates - they have lower rates for children which I don't know offhand, but you can find them in the online brochure on the website).

So ... half-price for children between the ages of 2 and 11 - easy enough to remember (says I with the lousy memory ) :)
