pianoetudes Posted September 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2018 Hi everyone. We want to bring our own wine to NCL Escape. Does anyone know how much wine corkage fee costs in MDR? I assume bringing wine is allowed because it is not in the list of prohibited items at https://www.ncl.com/prohibited-items Thanks.
xriva Posted September 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2018 https://www.ncl.com/faq/liquor-beverage-policy $15 per bottle corkage fee, paid as you board. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare BirdTravels Posted September 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2018 Hi everyone. We want to bring our own wine to NCL Escape. Does anyone know how much wine corkage fee costs in MDR? You can bring as much wine on board as you want. It has to be handcarried. But, you pay corkage on every bottle you bring onboard, regardless on where it is consumed. So, if you bring a bottle on board and drink it in the MDR, you pay corkage. If you bring a bottle on board and drink it in your room, you pay corkage. suzequ Posted September 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2018 Yes, as noted $15 per bottle. As you exit the elevators at Manhattan Cruise Terminal you see airport style screening. When they see the bottle(s) in your screened luggage, they then direct you to the NCL crew member at a desk on the left just beyond the screening area. He (it's always been a "he" for us) will charge the fee to your cabin - it will appear on your final room bill as a Manhattan Room charge. Enjoy! We are lucky to be able to drive to the port and bring on better wine, cheaper.

We're disappointed with some because they tasted bad.Sent from my HTC U11 life using Tapatalk Did you call it to the attention of the wine server ? Did you get a replacement bottle or monetary credit for this ? Hopefully NCL came up with a satisfactory solution ? Never have had a bad wine situation but my tastes are not like yours or others - sorry to read of your disappointment ! The VIVA-VINO package is a convenience alternative to the labor of hauling and toting your own wine onboard the ship.

MeHeartCruising Posted September 8, 2018 #13 Share Posted September 8, 2018 Can I use ship board credit for the fee? Yes. It will appear on your cruise bill just like you bought a meal or drinks. So OBC will offset it.
