Thank you NCL [emoji173]

Just wanted to post a happy(hopefully) post thanking NCL for the generous latitudes reward package. I personally think that the Platinum level is a very nice gift with everything that can be had...especially after seeing a post by a Platinum level on a different line that was thrilled to get a cooler bag in their cabin, of course while supplies last.

This sent me to the website to see if I was missing additional perks for this other line (Rhymes with Barnival). Nope, not much, free laundry and some priority boarding.

How does everyone else think NCL does on rewards?

There o.k. Not going to turn down a free dinner, bag of laundry, strawberries.

There are a lot of advertised "benefits" which are essentially "fake news". I have been a platinum and the new platinum plus level for a long time and cruise multiple times a year. I can count on one hand the number of times I have been able to get "Concierge service" if I am not in a suite,,, the benefit does not exist. Attempts at Platinum Plus priority restaurant and entertainment seating has resulted in "you gotta wait in line like everyone else". Dinner with Officers, last cruise the best the ship could scrape up was the manager of the photo shop,,,, which is an indication on how much the cruise line values their most frequent guests. There is no concierge or diamond lounge like on RCL.

They are all nice marketing ideas, but it totally gets lost between what the Latitudes people in Miami dream up and what the ship's have been instructed to implement.

Let's compare,,,, as a Platinum Plus equivalent on an airline, I get free upgrades to First Class on almost every flight. I get free food and alcohol (regardless of whether I am in coach and first class). I get priority boarding. I get priority baggage handling (as best as airlines can do) to have checked luggage first onto the carousel. I get three free checked bags up to 70 lbs.

Let's compare,,,, as a Platinum Plus equivalent at a hotel, I get free upgrades to my room (often to suites). I get a free breakfast. Depending on the hotel I get free evening drinks, snacks, water and sodas. Priority check-in (kinda).

Bottom line is that other industries find low cost, low impact ways of perking their most frequent customers, encouraging brand loyalty, with at least a attempt to show that they value their customers. I think that there is still a big disconnect between what NCL thinks that they are doing, and what really is happening on the ship.

We cruise once a year on average. For the last 5 years we only cruise NCL. For our perks we normally get the UBP, and the SDP. Because we book through casinos at sea all we ever pay is the taxes and gratuities. On one of our cruises those were paid for with one of our perks. I wish they would bring that promotion back. In the past we have sailed on both Royal Caribbean and Carnival and although we have enjoyed all of our cruises there are some other reasons we like NCL better. We like the anytime dining better. We like the entertainment better. We like only having to pay the tips to get our drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Although NCL has a decent selection of specialty diners we usually only do 3 of them with the SDP but we enjoy our meals at the MDR's just as much on the other nights of our cruise. No major complaints from us re NCL.

I agree with Spanish Guy and never thought I would agree with you 100% but you are spot on the money with NCL. The loyalty scheme is an illusion - concierge service outside the suite -never. They can not cope with what they have got in suite let alone loyalty passengers.

I am not sure of the relevance of how many times you cruise each year to the OP.

I have to say dinner with the photo shop manager - really - I bet they had a snappy time!!!

When we have dinner it was with the HD. Have to say though our friends were with Bar Manager and had an amazing time

Like you, I am not complaining and we are plat plus as well, but are we treated like gods? No. of course I do not expected to be either. I fine their perks to be on par with other lines, some things better, some not as good.

Also like you, I do not know when we have been able to use the concierge. We don't even try anymore and we have never bothered with special seating etc. I do think our status gets us better seating in the MDRs.

I guess I can say, I am very happy to be platinum and am loyal to NCL though we are top tier on Princess as well, but we don't think, since so many have become platinum plus the perks are anything better than we would expect. Yes, the dinners are nice and we love the laundry bag promo.

I don't know what airline you are flying but I doubt you are getting free upgrades on almost every flight on one of the"Big 3" US based airlines. This is the subject of endless debates on Flyertalk about the lack of upgrades. This is even for the big miles flyers. The other stuff, boarding and bag handling you can get with the correct credit card. (I know this as I have them) so they are no big deal.
