Jewel 2018 drydock updates?

Don't know. Get no Information on Board. Also ask about our Newseeland Cruise beginning 01.12., but got no answer. Very very bad Customer service here. Rumor said, Decision will make in Brisbane. I don't believe it

Makes me a little nervous about the the New Zealand cruise on the 1st.

Woohoo! NCL has finally come to their senses and dumped the waterslide off the Jewel. I can't say I'm crazy about any other improvements they've done to the ship. I'll miss the Fyzz Lounge. The new Bliss Lounge doesn't look as inviting or like they did much to change it but those karaoke rooms were a hoot! Given the ship's deployment to Asia and Australia, I can't imagine why they'd remove them given the cultural love for karaoke.

 

As for the issues with the propulsion, hopefully it gets sorted soon. My cruise earlier this year to NZ on the Radiance of the Seas was cancelled after the Captain struck bottom on the prior cruise and damaged one of them. All the best to the folks on the NZ sailing.

From photos, the look of Fyzz seemed very outdated. But definitely not as weird as the Bliss Lounge on the Pearl, which my DH describes as "Voodoo Bordello plus bowling."

The rooms in the Fyzz were not removed.  They were removed on the Jade, not the Jewel.

Back a week now.

 

first time on her so hard to say what’s changed but...

 

4 USB charge ports in our cabin, one on each bed light, 2 under TV

 

colour scheme seems less gaudy than previous photos 

 

cruised at 2o kn most of the time

Looks similar to what they did on the Gem, not so loud and busy, more mellow art and colors.

Got on the ship the day the contractors got off after 2 week drydock- Nov 2, 2018 in Singapore. Here are a couple photos. The cabin photos are from our Penthouse Suite aft 9170. Everything looked so shiny and new.
