Majestic Princess in Auckland today on a turnaround day.

She looks too big for Princes Wharf! 

 

It's strange, we cruised on Royal last year in the Mediterranean but she never looked as obviously big as Majestic does in that picture, yet they are the same sized ships.

Not quite the same size, majestic is bigger although only by 8 feet in height but 461 tonnes.

Royal is

• Tonnage: 142,229
• Length: 1,083 feet
• Height: 217 feet

Majestic is

• Tonnage: 143,700
• Length: 1,083 feet
• Height: 224 feet

Thanks for the pics. I have not made my mind up about the paint job on the bow yet.

Just a personal opinion but I must say that I prefer the clean white bow rather than the blue painted decals. It looks to be as if they are trying go a bit whacky like some of the other lines - a bit over the top in my opinion. But then again I suppose my age has a bit to do with that comment (a golden oldie).

I don't mind the sea witch and waves /hair being on the bow but clean white lines would do just as well.

I just think when a ship is all white, it looks very sleek. Yes, I suppose I am too conservative in this day and age when it is all about marketing and pizazz.
