UBP and 20 Yr Old

I tried searching for this without any luck....

I know on NCL that parents/legal guardians can sign a waiver for 18-20 year olds to drink beer/wine on board.  My question is, if I am sharing a cabin with my 20 year old son and elect to get the UBP as our "free" perk...will he get the UBP as well and be able to use that to cover the cost of any beer he might drink on the cruise?

Thanks!

in the terms and conditions it says this:

Ultimate Beverage Package (Unlimited Open Bar):
Applicable to guests 1-2 on the reservation.
Guest must be at least 21 years of age at time of sailing to qualify for the Ultimate Beverage Package. Guests under 21 will receive the soda package.

There have been multiple reports where posters have stated they were able to upgrade their 18-20 year old perk from soda package to Caps and Corks plan by paying the service charge. Had to be done onboard.

Really, I don’t think I’ve seen any. I wasn’t allowed to upgrade my 19 and 20 year olds, they got the soda package as a perk (DN and I got the UBP and they were both second in each cabin).

Only America has this rule, go to Europe where 18+ can drink legally like all the other adults.

Even there, getting the UBP/UOB would be a problem. Consuming alcohol is easy, getting the corks and caps package is the next level up, and getting the full package is the most difficult/impossible? for those under 21.
