Best Western Bay inn and Marina Miami

It is in North Bay Village, so it is a central geographic location on Biscayne Bay (not the ocean). Good if you have a rental car. If you want to walk to places, not a good spot. Trip Advisor has decent reviews, it is a motel type hotel, a bit older of a building.

Yes this is where the deck of Shuckers Seafood Bar & Grill collapsed into the bay.

 

I remember staying there nearly 30 years ago when our house on Miami Beach was being tented. Was a Holiday Inn at the time--a very spartan roadside motel that just happens to have a nice view of Biscayne Bay. And now the property is that many years older... 

 

If you want to head to the beach it is a 0.6 mile walk over the bridge to the nearest stop for the free City of Miami Beach trolley. Beyond Shuckers there are a couple local bars and restaurants and small markets close by, but nothing for "nice" other than possibly Benihana.
