Click on your username in upper right.  Click on "Ignored Users". 

 

OR, hover over their avatar and click "Ignore User" on the bottom center of window that opens.

It did not work.

after you click on IGNORE USER  you need to check the boxes  of what you want to ignore 

then  click UPDATE PREFERENCES

I do like how it takes up much less space reading a thread when someone you have chosen to ignore posts something.
