Jorg_ Posted January 8, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Will be going soon on Celebrity Reflection and did the online check in a week ago. They asked for a photo to be uploaded, but we skipped that. Now I started thnking about it - what is that photo required for? Did we do someting we'll regret, not having uploaded a photo? (Still have time to do that though). Will boarding be faster if we have uploaded our photos ahead of arriving to the ship?
NHCRUISIN Posted January 8, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2019 I’ve never heard of being asked to upload a picture while doing check in.
Rare hcat Posted January 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Part of the new procedures. You can upload ahead of time..may save time if it works. Or they will do it at the pier check in.. We chose not to upload photos or scan in our passport, but hope that won't delay us very much. X sends repetitive e mails/ texts asking us to to it..and asks us to confirm we received the request. We just ignore and delete.
phabric Posted January 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2019 Normally at the check in desk the cruise line representative would take your picture and it is stored on your sail card (you can not see the picture). When you exit and enter the ship you have to swipe your sail card, security can tell from the picture that it is you from the picture. Royal Caribbean is now letting you download a picture with your online check in. If you do not download a picture, it will only a take a minute at check in to take your picture. Everything is new in the terminal and it seems to be the latest technology. We did it and loved it being done. We sail Silhouette directly after Edge and had to do it the "old fashioned way" and will not be in the new terminal so we'll see how that goes. Have our xpress passes ready and documentation so we are ready for whatever they throw at us PatC
Rare cruisestitch Posted January 9, 2019 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2019 No need to fret. The photo is requested, not required.
