LOL,  I appreciate your point, but to be accurate, none of the R ships have ever been steam driven.

Their oil fired generators power electric motors.

She is in effect sailing under her own electricity.

That reminds me of our dinner with ship companions at a lovely seaside restaurant in Sydney.  The concierge had strongly advised us to go to the fairly distant location (maybe a half hour ride?) as opposed to the sister restaurant right at the port.  He was right!

As we were dining we watched Nautica sail on towards Bangkok in January 2008 ... the sight made us sad to have cancelled the second leg of a planned B2B, but on the other hand we had a wonderful dinner with lovely company!

Some years later we were sitting on the balcony of our hotel's roof deck restaurant in Istanbul and watched Nautica sail away again ..

.

It’s a turn of phrase that long ago ceased to relate at all to steam engines.

But I think you are totally aware of that.

Watched by a black backed gull by the look of it ( or is it the hairdryer I thought it was at first glance!)

Thanks David good to hear from you

No, sorry, I was not aware of that.

Still, for the dozens, perhaps hundreds, of Cruise Critics who may come across this thread, I thought that it was important to be accurate.

I really enjoyed the tour we took to the Royal Albatross centre. There were quite a few of them out and flying around the day we were there. Amazing birds.

Could it perhaps be an Albatross?

It could be anything! My knowledge of birds is minimal!
