Rare CruisinCrow Posted January 25, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2019 We have $300 onboard credit for our upcoming cruise. When I look at the shore excursion page, I get a popup saying that I can use my credit to book an excursion. I was just wondering what happens if we decided to cancel the excursion later. Would we get the onboard credit back? Would it be better just to use a credit card for the excursion and save the credit for when we're actually onboard? FlorenceItaly Posted January 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2019 If you cancel it online before the cruise it immediately goes back into your account. I believe there is a 3 day deadline before cruise. Otherwise, the OBC will be on your account when you board. If you book an excursion keep an eye out for lower prices. I have booked excursions and then later when it has come on sale, cancel and re-book. If you use a credit card it will take much longer for it to be refunded. Personally, I would use the OBC. Rare CruisinCrow Posted January 25, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted January 25, 2019 Great, thanks! The tour we were interested in taking is on sale so I wanted to book it now but didn't know the best way to pay for it. I'll use the credit.
K12Guy Posted January 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2019 I agree with Florence. However, I would use the on board credit to book the excursion. That way you don't have to pay any conversion fees or foreign transaction fees. Just a thought!
Rare Jim_Iain Posted January 25, 2019 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2019 In addition to FlorencItaly. If you cancel within 24 hours of the excursion on the ship the cost will be refunded to your on-board account as a non-refundable OBC
