Departure lounge

Not sure of the MLife designation but as a general rule -  Suites, Zenith and Possibly high rollers use Luminea.

Captain's Club Elite and above use a designated Specialty Restaurant - usually the same one used for the Elite Breakfast.  Possibly certain levels of MLife also.

If you are on a Shuttle they usually use the Theater.

Other's can comment on other room classifications.  You will be notified onboard by a letter left on you bed the night before.

The departure lounge  will be a designated place to wait for your luggage tags to be called for disembarkation.  Often it is in one of the speciality restaurants, with coffee , danish, juice.l.

We were on the Infinity in 2017, and on that particular cruise we had at least ten MLife members with access to Michael's Club.  I have seen MLife members on other cruises, but don't remember ever seeing so many.  In any event, Luminae was open for breakfast for Suite guests, but Suite guests, Zeniths and the MLife members used Michael's Club for the disembarkation lounge.

I am MLife and one of the perks is access to the departure lounge. What and where is this?

There are a number of different departure lounges for different categories spread out around the ship.  They usually provide coffee, water, juice and some type of breakfast snacks at them.

It appears to be mainly a way to spread disembarking passengers out around the ship on the last day (so that everyone won't congregate close to the exit), while making many feel they are getting "special" treatment.

It is kind of the same way that they spread passengers out at embarkation by having a number of different special category boarding lines.
