Think what they could get for a reserved pool lounge chair!!

HAL already has that !!   Look at the Lido Cabanas on the Eurodam.   Even if they are empty, you can't sit down to eat your Dive-In burger just for a few minutes.  They are not as expensive as the "Retreat Cabanas" on the upper deck, but pretty close.

EasyCruise tried this, and failed miserably. This was owned by the parent company that owns the ulcc EasyJet, and they tried to implement several tactics used in the ultra low fare air sector. The only thing that was included was the cabin. You paid for food, cabin service, everything else.

Instead of the non-existent Senior discount they should institute a "Senior Citizen Surcharge" - for each year over 65 you are assessed a $1/day surcharge, so for someone who is 85 they would pay $20 per day extra above the base fare.  Grand Voyages would have a double surcharge due to the "special nature: of those sailings.  HAL would be printing money!

$5000 charge for pier runners who are late back to the ship

$100 charge for people who reserve deck chairs with towels

$100 charge for people who need to ask for directions to find their way around the ship

$100 charge for people who wear too much cologne or perfume

$100 charge for people who leave stuff in their cabin when the cruise is over

$10,000 charge for people who don't wash their hands

:classic_biggrin:

Do you want to get off at a port? That'll be a $20 pp charge please. Is it a very desirable port that you booked your entire vacation around? Let's slide that number up to $45 pp! 😉

Just charge for the tenders, if you do not want to pay, then easy, just swim ashore.😝

I can see some HAL bean counter reading this fun thread and taking it to upper management saying "see look how many people are willing to pay upcharges for what we do not charge for now" We may have just ruined cruising on HAL, 😫

Terry....what is  really funny is that a lot of these "silly" suggestions   might really have merit and  deserve a good look.    We have met the enemy and told him how to  beat us!!!!!!

This thread is sounding like, if Ryan Air ran a cruise company...

Cruise for only £10*

*Per person, per day, plus other fees they know they can get away with....

Just like that song from Les Mis. (Master of the House). 😄

Adding song reference.

They used to do that.

I remember seeing something like a $3.50 daily charge for reserving deck chairs. This was in one of HALs brochures from the late 70s.
