LB_NJ Posted March 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2019 I am sure this has been asked before and please be nice. The Oceania website lists most Oceanview rooms as 165 sq. ft. and Veranda as 216 sq. ft. The layout diagram seems to show them the same on the inside. Is the 51 sq. foot difference due to the Balcony or are the Veranda cabins significantly larger inside.
Andee Posted March 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2019 I think the veranda cabins square footage includes the veranda.
Rare LHT28 Posted March 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2019 the inside of the A, B, C & D are all the same some exceptions apply
CintiPam Posted March 4, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2019 Yes, same on the inside. We often sail in the Oceanview C cabins when the anticipated cruise weather is very cool, such as in Scandinavia. Queasy sailor me loves the mid-ships location.
ICT lineman Posted March 5, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) The Veranda is 43 sqf of the 216 sqf so a A or B cabin room is 173 sqf. per se. We are rarely in the cabin or actually use the Veranda so now book cat. C Deluxe Ocean View on the O ships and cat. C1 Ocean View on the R ships. The $ saved can be substantial. The C1 cabins have a 2+ foot ledge with a slight up slope below the square window which is really handy for extra (clothing) storage space. We also like Deck 4 C1 cabins because boarding is on Deck 4, tendering is on Deck 3 and excursion dispatch from the Lounge on Deck 5 = 1 flight of stairs vs. waiting on an elevator. There are only 2 forward elevators on the R ships. Edited March 5, 2019 by ICT lineman

I apologize, LB_NJ; my post above was referring to the “O” ships, Marina and Riviera, not Insignia.

Last year we were in an aft A2 with the massive, deep veranda yet it's still listed as 216 sq ft. Do you know why?
Rob the Cruiser Posted March 7, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 7, 2019 Oh, @Petoonya, that information is super-super secret. But seriously, we had an A2 aft on Sirena last month. The extra square footage of the veranda is awesome. Just don't tell anyone.
Petoonya Posted March 7, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 7, 2019 I was in 6093 and it was unforgettable in Tahiti on Sirena. How about you- which were you in?
Rob the Cruiser Posted March 7, 2019 #10 Share Posted March 7, 2019 We had 6093 on the Miami - Buenos Aires. Terrific.
