guardianship celebration

The day we disembark from our April cruise on the Liberty, our niece (12) and nephew (5) will have been in our "temporary" guardianship for exactly 2 years.

We would like to do something special for them on the cruise. DW would like to get waitstaff to deliver a cake maybe with a couple of candles in it.

We have YTD

A) Would this be possible with the candle?

B) would it be asking too much of already very busy waitstaff?

What do you think and does anybody have any other ideas?

You can order a congratulations cake through Bon Voyage to have delivered at dinner. Prior to delivery, you can let your servers know that it's to be delivered to the kids and that it's to celebrate your 2 year anniversary as a family (you could also get a happy anniversary cake though it would probably take more explaining to your servers that it's not your wedding anniversary).

And it's no problem with anytime dining - that's one of the reasons why they get your room number because the cake order will be attached to your room.

The candle will be a problem.. You might be able to add a battery candle but they aren't going to add a flame candle.

Thanks for all the comments. It went great, they did put a candle on the cake.

The five year old got all emotional and asked "Where are we going to live next? I don't want to go anywhere else." We had to explain that this was a celebration of us being a family, not an ending. He has had a rough life in 3 years.

Thanks again.
