The S3 suites are located within the track of the Magic Carpet. They have nice sized “regular” balconies. The S1 and S2 suites on Port and Starboard have “regular” balconies also.

How does this affect your view within the track?  Can it stop in front of your balcony?  How fast or slow does the magic carpet move?  Sorry for all the questions.  I just don't want to have the magic carpet in front of me for any length of time.  Thank you.

The Magic Carpet last week sat on decks 5, 14 and 16.

We had a S3 on deck 7 on the Edge back in January.  7200.  The view is extremely obstructed to either side as the railings for the magic carpet stick out quite a distance.  I personally never noticed the magic carpet coming up or down.   I suppose if your suite was immediately below one of the floors it is sometimes docked at then it could be more instusive.    Unfortunately we were never advised that it would be so obstructed.  The balconies of the two suites that are on the edge of the magic carpet railings have a plexiglass window in the beams allowing them to be less obstructed on the one end.

At the time we had a very tiny little table on the balcony and the footstool/ table in the suite that couldn’t accommodate more than one plate so in room dining was a major fail.  Our butler actually advised us against it as he said there was no place to set up breakfast or a meal.  It’s nice to see that they’re rectifying that problem.

The two inside S3's on each deck have a different view than the two outside S3's. Also, those on 11-12 are under the Magic Carpet when it is docked on 14 so that spikes on the bottom of the Magic Carpet come down into your view. I have seen a deck 11 inside S3 and an outside deck 12 S3 and found the views quite good, though the spikes can be distracting (I might get used to them). The deck 6 S3's would have part of the top of the Magic Carpet obstruct their views when it is on deck 5 (and probably some noise).

We haven't had any reviews of the deck 6-7 S3's posted on the cabin review sticky, but have had 3 reviews of S3's on 11-12, which have the spikes when the MC is on 14 - 2 of those people said they would book a different stateroom and 1 person loved it and would rebook.

I would book an S3, if there were a nice savings over the S2's/S1's.  I personally would book deck 8-10 S3's and would lean toward an outside one because of the window in the side of the balcony giving you more of a view, but the insides on those decks would be fine for us too  (just my opinion 🙂).

Oh and the movement of the MC is fairly quick - maybe 5-7 minutes, with a mechanical noise while moving (I watched it from a cabin close to the MC).

Thank you for so much detail.  I think maybe we'll skip the track suites and stick with the aft whenever we do sail!

On Day 3 of our cruise; been really enjoying Edge. Great ship & staff. Seems like they are rolling out new furniture for Sky Suites (we are in an S3). Balcony table was there since we boarded; interior table arrived today.  Lounge chairs were provided by our butler via request (our butler Allain is outstanding). Much more functional furniture. Seems to be happening in phases - our next door neighbors have the older tiny balcony table. Off to Eden cafe for lunch.

Thanks for sharing.  We are in  Sky Suite now and still have the tiny table on the balcony and the very low table in the room.  I hope, for future cruisers, they change these out soon so they can enjoy breakfast on the balcony.

Sorry that you don't have yours. Maybe if you ask you butler, if you haven't already? I know I would ...🙂

I enjoyed our S3 balcony along the MC rails. We had the forward room 10162 and we could see straight into the bridge. It was fun to watch us pull into port.

‘We never did see the MC go past our room nor did we hear any noise. 0AD25AEE-4674-4679-B3B2-ABBBA964EE7C.thumb.jpeg.7087e9465878e378a06d13191c40dfc8.jpeg

Would love to know if showers in Ss have improved . Curtains or doors. We had floods everyday. Also, any improvements in entertainment varity and music??

They did install curtains in the shower. While doors would be more aesthetically pleasing, the curtains solved the issue - no flooding issue.

There has has been a decent amount and variety of activities\entertainment\music.

Picture or shower curtain:

we are in a Sky Suite and do not yet have the new furniture.  We had lunch with the Captain and staff today and told it was coming.  They are indeed listening to comments made by the cruisers.  They just do not have enough to change out all at once.  It was so hot here in the Caribbean that we opted not to have breakfast on the balcony anyway.  It did not detract from our great cruise.

As you can see from the photo above they have BOTH curtains and doors on the shower.  If you need to use a handrail when getting in and out, you would use the glass door.  If not, the curtains work just fine.  We had no major flooding either.

Not sure if yours is different, but there is no door to our shower - without the curtain there would be a gap with nothing (where you enter the shower/tub).

Then ours id definitely divergent.  You can either use a glass door or the curtain   Ours looks abut the same, but that glass panel is a door

We saw the evolution with our showers. The first one had the panel on Nov 27 - it wasn’t a door but a panel to help keep the water from leaking out. It had just been added per our cabin attendant due to leaking. Maybe some have actual doors- our swiveled like a door because there was nothing to bolt it to, I guess, but was definitely not a door. 🙂

In Jan they added the curtain since they still had issues.

Are these pictures from Deck 11 S3 or Deck 12 S3.  If these are indeed Deck 11 S3 it looks like the MC is covering the balcony on Deck12 S3.

If you look at the links below, you will see the difference between the decks 11 and 12 S3 views with the MC on 14. I'm pretty sure the ones above are from my visit to a deck 11 S3. You can see that the spikes are higher up than they are in the deck 12 S3's below.
