Skagway - Klondike Highway drive in snow

Hi there,

 

I'm planning to rent a car in Skagway and drive up the Klondike Highway to Carcross on the 7th. Forecast is showing chance of light snow in Fraser and Bennett. Anyone know if this is an issue that requires me to potentially need to request a bigger car or snow chains or some other type of safety gear? Or do I just need to drive a little more carefully than usual?

 

On a side note, anyone know whether any other ships arrive there on the 7th?

The jeeps at diyjeeptours look to have good ground clearance and good tires. Prices have gone up to $295 for day 8a-6p 200 mile limit.When we reserved they were $240/day.

 You will need to ask the car rental employees about road conditions on the day you rent the car.  Conditions are subject to change.

There isn't going to be any issue.  and a regular car rental will do just fine.   It is already way to warm for any snow accumulation.      And certainly no "jeep"  is needed.

Just updating to note that the Chevy...some kind of small car was sufficient for all our needs.
