I didn't know you could hear the announcements thru the TV. It was frustrating that I had to open my door to hear them.

Celebrity ships do not have this feature.

I remember a volume switch on Zenith but have not seen one on any current ships. I think it was on the night stand and did not necessarily work.  We've never heard announcements in the cabin except for announcing the muster drill. We are usually out of the cabin before they start the disembarkation process.
