Lobster- Portland and Halifax

I will be on the NCL Escape doing a Canada/New England cruise for the first time.  For those of you that have visited these two ports, can you provide suggestions for lobster dinner?  I'm not looking for a lobster roll, but the best places to eat steamed lobster.  I never have eaten dinner off the ship, but I've also never been to these ports and I LOVE lobster.  So, my plan is to go outside my comfort zone and try some food off the ship.  Restaurant suggestions for lobster lunch/dinner in Portland and Halifax will be greatly appreciated.

Try Beckys Diner in Portland. As you leave the port area, make a left. It's just a ten minute walk along the waterfront. It's a basic diner but their lobster is great. Get a cup of the seafood chowder. Prices are very reasonable.

Most cruise ship port calls don't allow for dinner ashore, are you staying late?  My recommendations for a fine dining experience (and I love Becky's and Gilbert's) are Eventide Oyster Co (their clambake includes a tail)(don't remember if they are open for lunch), Boone's Fish House & Oyster Room, or Street & Co.  We don't normally get lobster out (far cheaper to steam our own), and don't be surprised by the prices in Portland, they are as high or higher than Boston, its just our food rep is so great.

Thanks for the ideas!  We are in Halifax until 8 pm so we will have time for an early dinner.  We are only in Portland until 5 pm so that will have to be lunch.  I am from Wisconsin so lobster here isn't plentiful or inexpensive.  I've never made it myself and only have it as a treat on vacation.  I'm looking forward to enjoying some in New England!
